Product Owner III

Role Overview:

PDI Technologies is looking for a Product Owner to help drive our mobile product roadmap from vision to delivery. This individual will take roadmap initiatives and solution briefs and break them down into clear, well-structured PRDs that our engineering teams can pick up and execute against — keeping delivery moving in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

This role sits within our broader Mobile Platform and Framework effort — the underlying solution that lets customers bring a highly customizable, flexible branded app to market — with expected primary focus on Mobile Engagement Manager (MEM), a web-based portal being built on top of the Mobile Platform that will let end customers modify, update, and change elements of their own mobile app themselves, backed by a full publishing engine. MEM is early in its build, so this is a chance to help shape a new product from the ground up alongside engineering and design. Exact scope of ownership across the Mobile Platform and MEM will be finalized as the team ramps up, and there is flexibility for this to evolve.

As a Product Owner, you are a critical member of an Agile development team, translating product strategy into high-quality, high-value features. You'll work closely with Agile engineering teams, Product Managers, customers, and business stakeholders to shape requirements for our consumer-facing mobile experiences. Prior experience in Product Management, Product Owner, or Business Analyst roles for a consumer-focused mobile app or platform/framework product is highly desired.

This role is expected to use AI tools and processes as a core part of how work gets done — accelerating requirements-gathering, documentation, and story breakdown so the team can move faster without sacrificing quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stay aligned with and contribute to the product vision, roadmap, and priorities for Mobile Engagement Manager (MEM), with visibility into the broader Mobile Platform/Framework
• Translate roadmap initiatives and solution briefs into detailed, engineering-ready PRDs and user stories
• Help define and evolve requirements for MEM's publishing engine — how customers configure, preview, and push changes to their live mobile app
• As needed, extend into Mobile Platform-level decisions (what should be configurable, extensible, or standardized across customers) as they intersect with MEM
• Work closely with Support to understand and prioritize customer-reported issues affecting the mobile app and platform experience
• Work closely with system users (customers, partners, consulting) to understand product needs and translate them into actionable user stories
• Apply technical astuteness, attention to detail, and proactivity to drive closure and optimize development team throughput
• Use AI-assisted tools and workflows to speed up requirements analysis, documentation, and backlog preparation
• Serve as a product evangelist, particularly with Product Managers and Business teams, helping them understand platform best practices
• Develop documentation for new mobile and MEM features, including UI mockups, process flows, and data sequence diagrams
• Attend sprint planning meetings and work with the team to define sprint goals
• Guide Agile teams in breaking down user stories and defining acceptance criteria
• Ensure the product backlog is prioritized and properly balanced between new product work and maintenance
• Collaborate with engineering during sprints to review output and answer questions about desired functionality and outcomes
• Ensure the team has an appropriately groomed backlog ready for sprint planning; monitor ready stories vs. velocity
• Conduct backlog refinement meetings, sprint reviews, and product demos
• Manage the product backlog in ALM tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
• Author and publish product release notes and customer notifications
• Own release planning for Mobile Platform and MEM initiatives

Qualifications:

• Prior experience with consumer-facing mobile apps (iOS/Android) — writing requirements, PRDs, or user stories for a mobile product strongly preferred
• Experience with platform, framework, or configurable/multi-tenant products is a strong plus, given the customizable nature of the Mobile Platform
• Comfort defining requirements for a 0-to-1 product (like MEM) with evolving scope, including working with design on portal/UI workflows
• Ability to break down ambiguous roadmap items and solution briefs into scoped, sequenced, engineering-ready PRDs
• Familiarity with mobile-specific considerations (app store release processes, platform guidelines, mobile UX patterns) is a plus
• Fluent with — or genuinely eager to learn — AI-assisted product workflows (e.g., using AI tools to accelerate PRD drafting, backlog refinement, research synthesis, and documentation) in order to move quickly in a fast-paced environment
• 2–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Manager, Product Owner, or similar role, including at least 2 years working as an Agile Product Owner
• Highly motivated self-starter with a desire to help others, take action, and seek out resources to excel within the role
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms and vice versa
• Ability to work independently as a contributing member of a high-paced, focused team, managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to socialize ideas and influence decisions without direct authority
• Collaborative by nature, with a strong desire to dig in and learn independently and through asking questions
• Comfortable partnering with and reporting to leadership based in the U.S., with strong cross-time-zone communication habits
• Working knowledge of product and sprint backlog tracking, burn-down metrics, velocity, and work breakdown techniques
• Solid understanding of Agile software development processes and principles
• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or equivalent work experience

Preferred Skills:

• Domain experience in Convenience Retail, ERP, Logistics, or Financial transaction processing solutions
