Why Is This a Great Opportunity | One of the world's leading providers of specialty chemicals is seeking a Process Engineer for their state-of-the-art plant near Olympia WA. Olympia is the State Capital and largest city of Thurston County. It is 60 miles southwest of the state's most populous city, Seattle, and is a cultural center of the southern Puget Sound region.
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in facility EH&S excellence initiatives
- Support facility drive to a Reliability Centered Culture.
- Monitor plant performance and proactively respond to deviations
- Actively engage with operators and maintenance team to assist with troubleshooting and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Gather and analyze data to ensure that production meets the business plan
- Support improvements in operability, process control, operating discipline, and equipment optimization. Identify and execute improvement projects.
- Lead Root Cause Investigations of process upsets.
- Manage capital projects, engage with contractors and equipment suppliers
Qualifications
- B.S. Chemical Engineering or another engineering field with appropriate experience
- 2+ years of engineering experience in a chemical or related manufacturing environment
- Experience in a Continuous processing environment (refining, reaction, distillation)
- Ability to effectively manage both daily process support and long-term projects
- Experience identifying, troubleshooting, and solving processing problems
- Experience executing process improvement and capital projects
- Basic knowledge of DCS is a plus
