Overview:
The Bonadio Group is seeking an experienced tax professional to join our Private Wealth Tax Services team. This role will serve high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational families, family offices, trusts, estates, and related investment entities. This individual will lead complex client relationships and engagements, develop future leaders, deepen the Firm's capabilities, and drive growth in the private wealth market through strong advisory relationships and integrated solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead tax advisor to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, family offices, business owners, and family investment entities.
- Lead complex tax planning, compliance, and consulting engagements involving individual, partnership, and multistate tax matters.
- Advise clients in connection with tax authority inquiries, examinations, notices, and other complex compliance matters.
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with clients, attorneys, financial advisors, family office executives, trust professionals, and other centers of influence.
- Lead engagement teams and oversee service quality, profitability, risk management, staffing, and timely delivery.
- Drive growth through business development, market visibility, referral relationships, new client opportunities, and expansion of existing client services.
- Collaborate across service lines to address clients personal, business, investment, philanthropic, and wealth-transfer objectives.
- Mentor and develop team members through technical review, coaching, sponsorship, training, and leadership development.
- Help shape the strategy, service offerings, and market presence of Private Wealth Tax Services.
- Champion innovation, technology adoption, and continuous improvement in client service delivery.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, law, or a related field
- An active CPA license, JD, or EA required
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, private wealth, family office services, trusts and estates, or a related advisory environment
- Significant experience serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational families, trusts, estates, and family investment entities
- Strong technical knowledge of individual, fiduciary, estate, gift, partnership, and multistate taxation
- Demonstrated success managing complex client relationships and delivering planning and advisory services beyond compliance
- Proven leadership of teams, engagements, and client portfolios
- Strong business development, networking, and relationship-building capabilities
- Excellent executive-level communication, judgment, and collaboration skills
- Proficiency with tax software and Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in fiduciary income, estate, and gift taxation, including the ability to lead complex trust and estate engagements
- Experience providing strategic guidance on wealth transfer, trust structures, business succession, charitable planning, family investment structures, and tax-efficient investment considerations
- Ability to analyze trust agreements, partnership agreements, estate-planning documents, and other legal or financial arrangements to identify tax implications and reporting requirements
The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $225,000 and is commensurate with experience.
Hours of Operation:
Our standard office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Our summer hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with Flex Friday scheduling available in accordance with firm policy and business needs.
We pride ourselves on our flexibility; however, the ability to work additional hours will be needed at peak times.
