Principal Mixed Signal Design Engineer, Technical Lead
The ADI Industrial Team (Wilmington, MA) is seeking an experienced Mixed Signal Design Technical Lead Engineer with high speed, fine-line analog CMOS experience for the IC development of new products. The candidate will collaborate in evolving an industry leading the Industrial portfolio into new and more highly integrated market segments. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop system level designs on chiplets working with high-speed analog BiCMOS SiGe and fine line CMOS processes and collaborate closely with an experienced and motivated development team. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual and with strong technical, analytical and communication skills.
The candidate’s responsibilities will include system level product design, direct collaboration with tier 1 customers, leading internal design teams consisting of high speed, precision and digital design engineers and working closely with internal groups through the product development lifecycle including process, packaging and ESD. An ideal candidate will possess fine line CMOS design experience and transistor level schematic design knowledge of mixed signal circuits with a deep understanding of a product development flow. Duties also include working with evaluation engineers to compare and contrast simulation and lab results. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual and fast learner with strong technical, analytical and communication skills. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with internal fine line CMOS processes teams, collaborate with customers and work closely with an experienced development team.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead collaboration with top tier Industrial customers throughout the product development process at the system architecture level
- Collaborate with the internal design team to determine feasibility and implementation of requirements at the system level
- Responsible for the product development from initial concept through release including planning, organizing, and executing
- Design of system level schematics integrating analog/digital circuits including high-speed drivers and receivers, precision analog circuits and digital algorithms
- Develop detailed system level requirements for the internal design team to ensure product success
- Collaborate with the application engineers on product datasheet development, eval boards and reference designs
- Work closely with evaluation engineers to validate measured results against simulation prediction including eye diagrams, jitter and timing accuracy
- Preparation and presentation of design review documentation packages
Qualifications:
- BSEE, MSEE preferred, with 7+ years of mixed signal design experience and design integration.
- Must have knowledge and/or experience in: Mixed Signal Circuit Design, 40nm CMOS or smaller node design and development experience
- Ability to lead and communicate effectively in a team environment of global engineers
- Knowledge of Spice simulators and CAD tools (Cadence Virtuoso).
- Ability to problem solve at the transistor and system levels
- Knowledge of lab equipment including digital oscilloscopes, source generators and BER testers
- Ability to present to internal and external stakeholders

Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.
This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
