Job Description

A MORE ACCURATE JOB TITLE WOULD BE - Procurement Cost Analyst. Determines and implements cost accounting procedures and methods related to subcontract proposals. Responsible for the preparation and analysis of cost proposals and costing audits. Examines and reviews unusual cost records and ensures cost data is allocated correctly. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 8+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, cost analyst and price analysis practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. 

Evaluates vendor cost and pricing proposals 700K and above in support of US Government Contracts. Relies on financial experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks working Suppliers, Commodity Managers, Pricing Analysts and Program Managers. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. 

Basic Qualifications: 

8 years experience in procurement. 

Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting, Finance or Supply Chain or technical discipline; an additional 5 years of experience in procurement may be considered in lieu of degree. 

Additional Qualifications: 

Must have strong report writing skills 

Solid understanding of Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR Part 15) and Cost Accounting Standards. 

Strong computer skills - MS Office, ERP software and data management. 

Comprehensive organizational, analytical and written and oral communication skills. 

Broad knowledge of general accounting, cost accounting and financial analysis techniques.

A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. 

Work Schedule: 7:30am-4:30pm or 8am- 5pm- Monday-Friday - Overtime likely on Saturday. 

This position expected to run through the end of the year, with possible extension based on company business needs.
