Midwest Foods is a wholesale food distributor providing top quality food products to numerous food establishments in Chicago, surrounding suburbs, Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana. We import fruits and vegetables from all over the world and distribute these products to local markets. We are looking to complement our growth by hiring an Order Filler Manager to lead outbound order fulfillment operations on the second shift.

The Order Filler Manager will be responsible for overseeing all order fulfillment activities, with a primary focus on productivity, accuracy, and system compliance. This role requires advanced proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to ensure real-time tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement of picking and shipping operations. Experience working with NetSuite or similar ERP platforms is highly desirable.

Reports to: Warehouse Manager and Operations

Schedule: Second Shift (expected Sun–Fri, Evening hours)

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily order filling operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and on-time outbound shipments.
  • Directly manage and assign work to order fillers across multiple departments and zones.
  • Utilize WMS daily to manage workload planning, labor allocation, wave releases, order status and reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze WMS production metrics to identify productivity gaps and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure strict adherence to system-driven picking, staging, and loading processes.
  • Work closely with Shipping and Inventory teams to resolve shortages, short picks, and order discrepancies.
  • Maintain proper space utilization for staging, outbound lanes, and pick paths.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for performance, attendance, and workflow issues within the order filling team.
  • Assist with employee coaching, performance, attendance, and workflow issues within the order filling team.
  • Assist with employee coaching, performance feedback, and disciplinary documentation.
  • Ensure all safety procedures, equipment usage standards, and company policies are followed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, labor tracking, and operational records within MWS and related systems.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse Management on continuous improvement initiatives related to order fulfillment.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of warehouse leadership experience, preferably in order fulfillment or   distribution.
  • Strong WMS proficiency required (daily operational use, reporting, labor management, and troubleshooting).
  • Experience working with NetSuite or similar ERP/WMS platforms is a strong plus.
  • Proven background in high-volume order filling and outbound shipping operations.
  • Experience supervising large teams across fast-paced warehouse environments.
  • Ability to work second shift, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Forklift or Electric Pallet Jack (EPJ) experience preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and work in cold warehouse environments.
