Oracle PL/SQL Developer

Position Purpose:

We need a competent and proactive candidate to fulfil the role of an Oracle PLSQL developer for the global markets trade processing department. The application concerned is a fully integrated real-time settlement system that covers the four big steps that a Back Office system need to do - Announcements, Confirmations, Payments and Accounting. This application consists of a .NET based front end communicating with backend written in Pro*C, PL/SQL and Python. The Database is Oracle 19c. The backend consists of performance critical processes and batches which implement core of the system. As the business is growing, new functionalities and features need to be incorporated which not only exceed user expectations but also meet the stringent performance and security requirements. A successful candidate would have a unique opportunity to be part of a global team located across multiple locations (Mumbai, London and Paris) to develop and implement large scale changes. The role also offers an opportunity to understand and strengthen capabilities across the capital markets technology landscape.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

- Autonomous programming to deliver quality functionality, on time, meeting standard technical and performance expectations. 

- Understand requirements, by liaising with BAs, Users, Architects, and Leads etc. and provide solutions that are robust, scalable and adhere to standards.

- Self‑driven willingness to grasp the complete end‑to‑end process and offer improvement suggestions.

- Apply appropriate automation techniques to make testing efficient & dependable. 

- Ensure all Platform and Organization practices & standards with respect to software development lifecycle & risk management are adhered to day to day. This includes appropriate documentation of software, time, plans and provide timely updates.  

- Be available for Level 3 aspplication support as and when needed by the Platform owner to investigate production issues and provide fixes/workaround to the L1 & L2 support team. 

- Liaise appropriately with other platform IT teams upstream and downstream as and when required for assigned tasks.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Must have (will be assessed): - At least 9 years professional applicastion development experience on PLSQL

- Strong skills in Oracle PLSQL.

- Good understanding of RDBMS Concepts, SQL optimization.

- Good understanding of the Linux/Unix OS commands.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills 

- Passion for technology

Nice to have (would be given preference) :

- Work experience in an Investment Bank or Financial Services domain.

 - Exposure to Python, C++ , pro*c s

 - Work experience on LINUX.
