THE OPPORTUNITY

The Officer, Senior IT Auditor is responsible for executing risk-based IT audits, technology control assessments, issue validation activities, and other audit engagements to support the successful completion of the Internal Audit Plan. The role evaluates the effectiveness of IT controls, cybersecurity practices, IT governance, system development processes, and regulatory compliance requirements. The Officer, Senior IT Auditor identifies opportunities to strengthen controls, mitigate technology risks, and improve operational effectiveness while maintaining audit independence and objectivity. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Perform a substantial portion of audit fieldwork.
  • Execute assigned tasks, including internal audits, issue follow-up, issue validation, and other special projects.
  • Perform multiple audit activities and projects ranging from moderate to high complexity to support the successful achievement of the department’s goals and objectives.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of audits, including the scope, quality, and timeliness of work performed.
  • Stay current on changes to the organization’s business, products, and services.
  • Maintain sufficient contact with business owners to broaden and strengthen the Internal Audit team’s relationships with key personnel.
  • Inform Internal Audit Directors and Managers of audit progress and potentially significant issues in a timely manner.
  • Identify areas where internal controls may not exist or require improvement.
  • Ensure workpapers are properly prepared, finalized, and filed, including the resolution of all outstanding items, and adhere to policies for electronic workpapers.
  • Maintain audit independence and objectivity in all assignments and adhere to organizational and professional ethics standards.
  • Assess Information Technology General Controls, application controls, cybersecurity controls, cloud technologies, and technology governance processes.
  • Participate in risk assessments used to develop audit scope and testing approaches.
  • Evaluate compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Utilize data analytics and audit technologies to identify trends, anomalies, and potential control weaknesses.
  • Assist in developing audit reports, including documenting observations, risks, root causes, and recommendations.
  • Perform validation testing to ensure corrective actions have been effectively implemented.
  • Follow all established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
     

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in IT Audit, Information Security, Risk Management, Internal Audit, or External Audit required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, or another relevant certification required.
  • Experience auditing Information Technology General Controls, cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud environments, identity and access management, disaster recovery, and system development lifecycle controls.
  • Familiarity with FFIEC guidance, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, COBIT, COSO, and relevant banking regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk management, banking regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Strong risk management experience, including supporting assessments and performing audits.
  • Knowledge of regulations governing Internal Audit and best practices for implementing these regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
     
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with management and other stakeholders and partners to establish appropriate remediation efforts.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to collaborate, compromise, and demonstrate empathy while building effective relationships with the Internal Audit team and the larger organization.
  • Ability to represent the Internal Audit department and interact professionally and competently with all levels of company staff.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate team members, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and autonomy.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changes in the audit plan, projects, or team needs.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, accept ownership and accountability for the process, and deliver on commitments.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.

The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
