Who We Are
AdHoc is an experiential marketing and creative production agency that develops culture-driven campaigns, events, partnerships, and brand experiences for some of the world's most influential companies and artists. We operate at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, production, and community, connecting our clients to audiences in meaningful, memorable ways.
We are a fast-moving, collaborative, and highly creative team that values initiative, accountability, curiosity, and high standards. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a sales leader who can build and own the pipeline that fuels AdHoc's next phase — turning relationships and cultural fluency into signed business, while keeping the creative energy and agility that defines AdHoc intact.
About This Role
AdHoc is seeking a New Business Director to lead all company sales initiatives, from first outreach to signed statement of work. This role reports the company founder and sits at the front of the business — partnering closely with leadership, creative, production, and account management teams to translate client KPIs into compelling pitches and turn prospects into long-term partners.
This role requires a highly networked and proactive operator who can move fluidly between big-picture sales strategy and hands-on pitch-building. The ideal candidate is someone with a rolodex full of decision-makers, a sharp read on what makes a client say yes, and the discipline to keep a pipeline healthy month over month.
The New Business Director will own business development, pitch and proposal leadership, client transition into account management, and sales reporting, while directly managing the Community Manager to align outbound execution with overall sales strategy.
Role + Responsibilities
New Business Development
  • Build and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve company revenue targets across brand, music, and political/organizational clients
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through a qualified pipeline of relationship-building, outbound prospecting, and inbound lead follow-up
  • Maintain and grow a network of decision-makers who need a trusted partner to produce their events and amplify their message
  • Strategize lead magnet campaigns with the Community Manager to develop inbound inquiries and refine outreach
  • Maintain business development databases and CRM records to capture all relevant prospect and account details
  • Direct the Community Manager's outbound business strategy, agreeing on the weekly short list of outreach targets and ensuring cadence and messaging move prospects through the sales funnel
  • Set and track weekly and monthly outbound communications targets and lead qualification quotas for the Community Manager, and review outreach campaign strategy and CRM hygiene against pipeline goals
  • Review the Community Manager's research and strategic briefs on new business opportunities, incorporating findings into overall sales strategy
Pitch & Proposal Leadership
  • Ideate strategic action plans and tailor pitches to each prospect's KPIs and business objectives
  • Develop compelling sales materials, pitch decks, and proposals, including broad creative direction, budget parameters, and audience/attendee journey
  • Manage the sales process end-to-end, from prospecting through negotiation to signed scope of work
  • Develop and maintain the Deal Brief for each opportunity — a centralized, pre-award document summarizing creative, production, and account needs — ensuring account management and production teams inherit a complete picture of the deal at handoff
  • Work alongside the Community Manager and Founder to shape editorial strategy and content marketing, and to adapt company communications — email marketing, editorial, website, and social — in support of pipeline goals
  • Direct the creation of all internal and external pitch documents, decks, case studies, and social assets with the Community Manager, ensuring materials assert AdHoc's right to win target accounts and stay brand-right
  • Set content and brief guidelines the Community Manager uses to produce creator, partner, and internal toolkits
  • Field inbound inquiries and prospect calls surfaced by the Community Manager, qualifying deals and deciding which move forward in the pipeline
Client Partnership & Account Transition
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients through the pitch and award phase
  • Work closely with account management to ensure a seamless transition of client contacts and stakeholders from pitch to project phases, including semi-regular check-ins during the project phase to discuss account health
  • Collaborate with account management on renewal contract negotiation, assignment capture, and statement-of-work amendments and change orders
  • Own client renewal timing and retention at the relationship level, flagging at-risk accounts proactively alongside account management
  • Identify and pursue upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts
  • Proactively identify and resolve client issues at the partnership level, ensuring a high standard of client satisfaction from first contact onward
  • Refine client intake playbooks with the Community Manager and organize team-wide need-to-knows while building proposals, including scope of work documents and project timelines drafted with account and project managers
Sales Reporting & Performance
  • Forecast new and recurring revenue across a portfolio of prospects and clients
  • Conduct regular business reviews with clients to assess satisfaction, address concerns, and identify areas for improvement
  • Prepare and present reports, forecasts, and pipeline performance analysis to the leadership team, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities
  • Track win rates and pitch performance to continually refine sales strategy and materials
What You Bring
  • Proven work experience in sales, business development, or a similar leadership role, ideally within experiential, events, or agency environments
  • Experience managing or mentoring a direct report, with the ability to set clear targets and give constructive feedback on outbound execution and creative materials
  • History of selling directly to clients with strong relationship and negotiation skills, and a track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence at all levels
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and propose effective solutions
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple prospects and priorities simultaneously
  • Proficient in CRM software, prospecting and outreach tools, and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • A motivated team player whose enthusiasm inspires the team
  • Based in NYC for a hybrid work environment-- Mondays and Fridays are remote, Tuesdays-Thursdays are in our Greenpoint office.
What Success Looks Like
  • AdHoc's pipeline stays consistently full, with revenue targets met or exceeded quarter over quarter
  • The Community Manager's outbound work is sharply aligned with sales priorities and hitting quota
  • Pitches and Deal Briefs give production, creative, and account teams everything they need before a deal is even signed
  • Clients transition from pitch to project with no dropped context post-award
  • AdHoc becomes a must-call agency for niche, culture-driven experiential and production
Compensation
  • Base Salary Range: $100,000–$120,000 + Commission, OTE $250,000
  • Medical, dental, vision benefits
  • 401(k)
