Network Device Patching & Configuration Engineer

Role: Network Device Patching & Configuration Engineer 

Bangalore 
Experience: 4–8 Years

Key Responsibilities

• Perform firmware/OS patching and upgrades on network devices (routers, switches, firewalls)
• Manage configuration updates, backups, and standardization across network infrastructure
• Conduct pre/post upgrade validation to ensure network stability and minimal downtime
• Perform L2 triage for network-related incidents, patch failures, and performance issues
• Ensure security compliance by addressing vulnerabilities and applying recommended fixes
• Maintain change records and participate in CAB approvals for network changes
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams for coordinated execution

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with network devices (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.)
• Expertise in network OS upgrades, patching, and configuration management
• Good understanding of routing, switching, firewall concepts
• Experience in incident triage and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident/Change Management)

Good to Have

• Exposure to automation tools (Ansible, Python) for network configuration
• Experience with vulnerability/remediation tools
• Relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent)
