Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations
- Design, build, and implement network systems
- Direct compilation of records and reports concerning network operations and maintenance
- Troubleshoot network performance issues
- Analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions
- Monitor and respond to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems
- Interface with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance
- Manage purchase, testing, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN/MAN/WAN systems
- Perform system-level design and configuration of products, including determination of hardware, OS, and other platform specifications
- Plan large-scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies
- Perform systems engineering tasks and activities involving major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budget, and support facilities/equipment
- Provide quality assurance review and evaluation of new and existing software products
- Provide assistance and oversight for information systems operations, including:
- Computer and telecommunications/communications operations
- Data entry and data control
- LAN/MAN/WAN administration and operations support
- Operating systems programming
- System security policy procedures
- Web strategy and operations
- Provide input to policy-level discussions regarding standards and budget constraints
- Supervise personnel engaged in operation and support of network facilities, including communications equipment on various platforms in large-scale or multi-shift operations
- Supervise complex operations involving multiple functions such as network operations, systems security, systems software support, and production support activities
- Monitor and respond to hardware, software, and network problems
- Provide routine testing and analysis of all elements of network facilities, including power, software, communications machinery, lines, modems, and terminals
Required Education & Experience
- High School diploma and at least 5 years of experience is required.
- Ability to work in a team environment, but self-driven to complete assignments while continually developing proficiencies in processes.
- Strong written and verbal communications, team building and collaboration skills.
Certification Requirements
- DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent).
- Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience at DISA, or knowledge of DISA systems and processes.
- Basic understanding of Department of Defense, its policies, and hierarchy.
- Basic understanding of DISA organizational structure and how different elements (DITCO, etc.) contribute to fulfilling mission partner TSR requirements.
- Network certifications (Cisco, Juniper, etc.).
Clearance Requirements
- Active DoD SECRET is required.

- Position is on site at Government facility. Remote work is not available.
