Job DescriptionThe Network Administrator will be responsible for maintaining RIS' technical infrastructure. Basic task include:
- Monitor the network for issues and be the primary contact with ISP
- Install, modify and backup all network devices
- Manage switch ports, VLAN configurations and update switches and routers
- Install, manage and update firewalls
- Monitor Intrusion IPS and IDS, reviewing alerts and reports and update as necessary.
- Monitor and optimize WAN performance and devices
- Monitor the network performance and resolve issues as required
- Analyze traffic flow to identify issues and add capacity
- Maintain documentation of network maps and IP assignments
- Deploy new equipment and plan upgrades
In addition, this position will be client facing. As part of our ongoing commitment to assist our clients with their IT needs, the Network Administrator will work in conjunction with other departments to provide, and sell additional IT solutions and services. These may include such solutions as managed services, new store build outs, and network configurations and optimizations.
Qualifications- 3+ years experience programming and maintaining network routers, switches and firewalls
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT or related field preferred
- Must be a team player with experience working with contractors and company personnel
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with MSSQL, MySQL, and/or Oracle a plus
- Ability to operate in a professional work environment
Experience with point of sale systems, or the retail industry a plus
