Hexcel is currently seeking a CNC Programmer for our Amesbury, MA location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

·       Analyzing engineering drawings, specifications and verbal instruction to plan a manufacturing strategy

·       Creating efficient toolpath machining strategies using MasterCAM for milling programs

·       Developing fixtures and work holding jigs for machining unique components

·       Creating detailed setup sheets and work instructions

·       Modifying current production programs and fixtures to improve efficiency

·       Setting up and running various CNC machinery (3-axis, 5-axis, EDM, waterjet) and machining prototype or low quantity run parts when required

·       Occasionally design 2D wireframe / 3D solid models from a blueprint or sketch to create CNC programs

·       Select correct programs, loading and setting up tools and parts.

·       Cost new products by providing material cost and processing time for fixturing, as well as set up and run time to produce parts.

·       Perform other varying duties including, but not limited to: completing reports and records, running daily calibrations, basic machine maintenance, training operators, and troubleshooting production issues.

Qualifications:

·       High school diploma or GED required

·       2+ years' programming experience utilizing MasterCAM X or newer software

·       2+ years’ experience working in a Machine Shop - setting up and operating CNC and manual machines

·       Experience with troubleshooting CNC programs

·       Must be able to read blueprints with an understanding of GD&T

·       Ability to decipher and edit NC code as required

·       Communicate well with others and to interact with individuals on the floor as a team.

·       Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a government Security Clearance

Complete salary range for this role: $68,655 - $116,713

This position is restricted to U.S. citizens due to U.S. federal government contracts that require the employment of only persons who are U.S. citizens.
