About the Role:
We are looking for an ambitious Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of an innovative hardware appliance. You will be the primary technical authority for the project’s mechanical architecture, responsible for translating a concept into a fully engineered design ready for prototyping.
What We Are Looking For:
Location: Must currently reside in Houston, Texas, USA. (Applications from outside the Houston area will not be considered.)
Work Authorization: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder. (We do not provide visa sponsorship, including H-1B or any other work authorization, and will not consider candidates requiring sponsorship.)
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in the design and development of food-grade machinery or commercial kitchen equipment. (Candidates without proven professional experience in food-processing hardware will not be considered.)
Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering (early-career professionals and ambitious individuals are highly encouraged).
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in CAD software.
Hands-on: Proven experience with prototyping, fabrication, and assembly in a lab or workshop environment.
Mindset: A "get-it-done" attitude—you want to see your designs come to life.
Autonomy: Ability to work autonomously and own your design decisions from concept to final product.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Architecture: Lead the design process from concept to final CAD files.
Engineering Calculations: Perform all necessary structural and functional calculations to ensure design feasibility and performance.
Technical Authority: Serve as the primary technical lead for the mechanical scope of the project.
Prototype Coordination: Work closely with the core team to oversee the transition from design to physical prototype.
What We Offer:
Technical Ownership: You will be the lead designer and technical authority for a new, high-potential hardware product.
Performance-Based Structure: Compensation is milestone-based, structured to reward the successful delivery of project phases.
Portfolio Building: This is a project that you can showcase as a major milestone in your engineering career.
Note: This is a milestone-based contract project. The hourly rate listed is for estimation purposes, and the total compensation will be structured as a project-based flat fee based on project milestones and deliverables.
