JOB LOCATION: Corona, CA
JOB TYPE: Direct Hire/Full time
Amtec is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work for a global capital equipment company located in Corona, CA. This person will analyze, create and recommend mechanical designs for new and existing laser processing and photolithography systems and equipment and other custom design projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work within an Engineering team including Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, and Software Engineers to develop system level solutions to complex requirements.
• Applies strong knowledge of CAD modeling, DFM/DOE practices, GD&T standards, feasibility studies, and testing on new and modified designs..
• Analyze machine performance and perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions as required.
• Applies advanced mechanical engineering theories, methods, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex technical challenges (FMEA, DFX, FEA and others).
QualificationsEDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
• A minimum of 10 years of experience designing automated capital equipment, related components, and precision sub-systems.
• Experience with precision automation, x-y-z-theta stages, robotics, material handling, and optical systems.
• Proficient use of AutoCAD, Inventor, FEA packages and MS Project.
• Strong technical and scientific skills including DOE, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, 6 Sigma, and application Pareto, 5Ys, 6Ms, and DMAIC.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, clever and innovative.
• Ability to work under pressure, good problem solving skills, self-motivated results oriented, with a sense of urgency and good follow through, ownership of assigned projects with good interpersonal skills.
• Has worked in a matrix environment alongside all engineering disciplines.
