Job DescriptionRole Overview
The Mechanical Design Engineer position designs product applications and assemblies with multidisciplinary project teams. This role is a perfect blend of design engineering and practical on-site problem-solving. The position is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting highly complex engineering projects, as well as deploying and optimizing systems.
What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Design & Modelling: Use SolidWorks to create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings of precision electro-mechanical systems, fixtures, and components.
- Prototyping & 3D Printing: Operate 3D printers and utilize rapid prototyping technologies to fabricate, test, and validate component parts.
- On-Site Operations: Deploy systems at customer locations, operate robotic/industrial equipment, and test designs under dynamic field conditions.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex problems in manufacturing, assembly, and field-use directly at the site.
- Documentation: Create, manage, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM), manufacturing blueprints, and comprehensive product user documentation.
- Collaboration: Coordinate closely with software, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to ensure all technical and functional requirements are met.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements)
Required Education and Experience:
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline (such as Mechatronics or Production Engineering).
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of core experience in mechanical design engineering.
- Software Skill: Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling and complex assemblies is strictly mandatory.
- Technical Skill: Practical, hands-on experience with 3D printing technologies and prototyping.
- On-Site Flexibility: Fully comfortable traveling to customer sites and working in dynamic, hands-on field environments.
- Fundamentals: Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals and production fabrication processes.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
- Experience designing sealed enclosures for electronics and sensors.
- Basic understanding of machining, welding, and sheet metal fabrication.
