Huyett is a progressive and growing master distributor and manufacturer of industrial fasteners. We are seeking a Master Data Manager to serve as the enterprise leader responsible for architecting, governing, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of master data across all core domains such as Customer, Product/SKU, Supplier, and Transaction. The role is responsible for stratifying and codifying data and serving information and insights to company stakeholders through data integration, Artificial Intelligence, analytics, and reporting.

This role approves data warehouse design and master data structures along with related changes and maintenance to ensure that data is modeled, normalized, collected, fully developed, and accurate to provide reliable insights that directly facilitates customer targeting, personalized marketing, sales growth, sourcing decisions, and operational efficiency.

This role coordinates how enterprise information is defined, standardized, measured, governed, and improved while preserving ownership of operational data within the appropriate Business Domains. The Master Data Manager works closely with business leaders, Information Services, Data Analytics, and subject matter experts to develop Enterprise Master Specifications, maintain Business Domain and Systems of Record catalogs, monitor Information Quality, prepare governance recommendations, and coordinate implementation of approved standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Enterprise Data Standards Coordinate standards and continuous improvement across Customer, Item, Supplier, Transaction, and additional Business Domains to ensure enterprise information is consistently defined, governed, measurable, and suitable for business operations, reporting, analytics, and future Artificial Intelligence applications.
  • Information Architecture & Analytics Enablement Partner with Information Services and Data Analytics to translate business information requirements into effective database, integration, reporting, analytics, and data warehouse solutions. Ensure enterprise analytical capabilities are built upon approved Systems of Record, business definitions, and Trusted Enterprise Information.
  • Leadership & Change Management Lead cross-functional information initiatives through collaboration and influence; work closely with Executive Leadership, Business Leaders, Information Services, Data Analytics, the Data Governance Committee, and Subject Matter Experts; promote data literacy and accountability; and ensure governance remains practical, business-focused, and oriented toward measurable results.
  • Master Data Ownership & Governance Lead enterprise data governance by establishing and enforcing standards, processes, and input specifications for master data creation and maintenance. Partner with IT and Data Analytics to align Systems of Record and Data Warehouse platforms. Monitor and improve data quality, support scalable analytics and AI capabilities, and coordinate cross-functional data decisions while preserving business ownership of operational data.
  • Data Architecture & Design Architect Partner with developers to approve and maintain master data structures by defining normalized, validated, and scalar data frameworks that integrate customer behaviors, product attributes, supplier information, transactions, and pricing to enable segmentation, targeting, analytics, and actionable business insights.
  • Information Quality & Continuous Improvement Establish baselines, scorecards, and measurable objectives for Information Quality; monitor accuracy, completeness, consistency, duplication, and reliability; identify and prioritize improvement opportunities; and lead corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives that increase confidence in Trusted Enterprise Information.
  • Customer Data & Enrichment Lead customer data governance by standardizing account structures, improving contact capture, enriching customer records with third-party data, validating NAICS classifications, and driving customer stratification to improve segmentation, prospecting, and scalable data maintenance.
  • Supplier & Transaction Data Management Ensure supplier and transaction-level master data is standardized and governed to support sourcing decisions, compliance, and performance analytics while aligning with Huyett’s commercial and operational strategies.
  • Analytics & Commercial Enablement Integrate and standardize master data across CRM, digital, sales, and service platforms to create a 360° customer view, enable growth analytics and strategic decision-making, support pricing and inventory planning, and deliver actionable insights from data quality trends.
  • Leadership & Change Management Champion enterprise-wide data literacy and master data standards through training and communication, drive cross-functional governance compliance, and lead a strategic data team that aligns data architecture with commercial growth by partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Purchasing, Merchandising, Operations, and IT.
Qualifications

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in data governance, master data management, and data architecture preferably in distribution/manufacturing.
  • Technical skill developing databases, analytics, and reporting, with working knowledge of machine learning and Artificial Intelligence tools.
  • Proven track record implementing enterprise master data governance and cleanup initiatives.
  • Experience with ERP, CRM, data warehouse, Business Intelligence, MDM, or comparable enterprise systems.
  • Knowledge of customer stratification, NAICS classification, and enrichment tools (e.g., ZoomInfo).
  • Strong business acumen with ability to translate commercial requirements into data architecture.
  • Excellent leadership, influencing, and change management skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution ability.
