Opportunity
Life Surge is seeking a Marketing Research Manager for our growing corporate marketing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for representing the voice of the customer with data and insights to assist the company in making well-informed data-driven decisions. This position spans across all facets of marketing with specific emphasis on brand, customer sentiment, and new product development.
The Market Research Manager has a deep understanding of primary market research methods and tools, has a passion for understanding the customer and representing their voice within the organization, thrives in a high-paced cross-functional environment, and finds a reward in helping to create innovative and commercially successful products and services.
Responsibilities

  • Collaborates across the organization to execute market research, inform product strategy, and help improve the customer experience.
  • Employs a varied toolset of qualitative and quantitative research methods appropriate to the context and need of the project (e.g., ethnographic research, surveys, in-depth interviews, focus groups, online communities, journey mapping, conjoint analysis).
  • Works closely with internal stakeholders and external research partners/vendors to ensure the successful development of the methodology and execution of the fieldwork (focus groups, 1v1 interviews, surveys).
  • Develops and presents clear, insightful, and actionable research reports and provides recommendations by integrating new data/learnings with existing market research knowledge.
  • Dynamically leads meetings including project working team updates and planning, interim topline reporting, and final presentations of research and recommendations.
  • Oversees and often executes all stages of research including design, fieldwork, analysis, interpretation, and charting of results for presentations.
  • Collaborates with research vendors for fieldwork while ensuring adherence to best practices, legal stipulations, keeping to timelines, and revising deliverables.
  • Develops research plans and strategies that translate business goals into research objectives and studies, in partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Leads research studies, including sampling, guide and questionnaire development and execution.
  • Analyzes data and develops quick turn-around deliverables that are visual, concise, and easily digestible.
  • Evaluates and summarizes research results and presents findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Looks holistically across previous research to develop insightful and actionable recommendations.
  • Manages vendor relationships, including contracts and documentation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred

  • Strategic and critical thinking skills are necessary.
  • Storyteller with data who can execute concise, visually engaging reports that clearly summarize the “so what” and “now what.”
  • Self-starter, able to execute projects with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, high energy; executive presence.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong project management and excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong command of MS Office Suite software
  • Knowledge of survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 6+ years of experience (either on a corporate or vendor side) in market research methods to drive business strategy.
  • Experience in consumer market research.
  • Prior experience developing and managing primary research, quantitative and qualitative.
  • Strong understanding of a broad range of research techniques and methodologies, as well as project management.
  • Can effectively influence, present, and communicate cross-functionally with all levels, exceptional verbal, and written skills.
