Road Runner Sports is looking for a Marketing Project & Production Manager to own the operating system behind our marketing. You will make sure campaigns, events, and launches ship on time, on budget, and with every team aligned from brief to delivery across stores, print, catalog, email, SMS, web, and social. You will own Asana as the team's system of record, lead project management for major activations including the LA Marathon and our RRS Apparel launch, and build the workflows that give a fast-moving marketing organization the structure it needs to execute at a high level. If you are a builder who brings calm to complexity, holds process lines without losing relationships, and gets energized by making great teams run better, this role is for you.
About Us:
- Road Runner Sports is proud to have been recognized as the Footwear Retailer of the Year by Footwear Magazine
- Recipient of the Better Business Bureau Torch Awards for Ethics
- Founded in a San Diego garage over 42 years ago
- Road Runner Sports has 50 plus stores across the country, and we are growing!
- Our Values, Mission & Purpose (we call them Our 6 Pillars) are Be Different, Bring the WOW, Build Something Great Together, Get Moving, Stay Active, and Live Healthy
What you'll get to do:
- Own the integrated production calendar across every marketing channel, locking it before production starts and keeping it accurate as the business moves fast
- Lead end-to-end project management for major events and launches the LA Marathon activation, RRS Apparel launch, store openings, and cross-functional programs that need a dedicated driver
- Serve as the team's Asana owner, building and administering the workspace structure, templates, intake forms, automations, and dashboards that make project status visible without a meeting
- Manage production timelines for creative, copy, photography, print, and in-store assets, routing reviews, consolidating feedback, and making sure deadlines hold
- Spot roadblocks before they become crises, diagnosing what's stuck and building the fix, whether that's a new workflow, a template, or getting the right people in a room
- Work every day with Creative, channel owners, Merchandising, Retail, and E-commerce, serving as the connective tissue that keeps cross-functional execution on track
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years in marketing project management, traffic, or production in retail, omnichannel, agency, or an in-house brand team
- Advanced Asana experience: you have built and administered a workspace (projects, templates, rules, reporting), not just worked in one
- Event or product-launch project management experience with outside vendors and real budgets
- A track record of managing multiple campaigns at once across print and digital against hard deadlines
- Working knowledge of the production process: creative briefs, proofing, print specs, and asset delivery
- Clear, direct communication; you will hold teams to dates and process and keep the relationships strong while doing it
- Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 proficiency; PMP or CAPM certification a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Where you'll work:
- On-site at our San Diego headquarters, five days a week
- Occasional local travel to stores, events, and partner meetings
Your rewards!
- Earn competitive pay
- Contribute to an OUTSTANDING team
- Be the envy of your friends with discounts on ALL the latest gear and footwear
- Enjoy free running and walking events
