The Powered by Centri Manager position has the primary responsibility of oversight over the Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting engagement work plans. As a leader of the firm, the Powered by Centri Manager I will demonstrate excellent project management skills, client service, and positive coaching to the team members in developing technical and professional competency.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Understand accounting concepts to allow for guidance of staff that relate to revenue recognition and balance sheet reporting.
  • Explain the audit workbook process and changes made to help foster staff/senior growth.
  • Understand accounting concepts when guiding the clients, work with client team on reviewing cash management reporting.
  • Perform and lead all PBC concepts, including performing in depth variance analysis.
  • Onboard new clients to the PBC platforms while continuing to be transition lead with oversight.
  • Audit/tax prep lead in terms of facilitating process with outside CPA.
  • Begin to perform budget/forecast related activities and build templates.
  • Work with client on cash flow modeling.
  • Review client tax returns before having client CFO/COO/CEO review to ensure all numbers tie out to QB.
  • Identify more complex scope problems that may arise within the engagement, as well as opportunities for ancillary service offerings. Bring them to the attention of the engagement director. 
  • Communicate to the Engagement Leaders and team of progress, responsibilities.
  • Lead all client calls/meetings, managing project status staff. Develop project plans and accurate completion of project plans at the deliverable level.
  • Responsible for understanding engagement economics, leveraging the team appropriately, monitoring margin, scheduling, invoicing, etc.
  • Leadership responsibilities include building in person connections with the team, peers, and senior leaders in the Firm.
  • Participate in the performance process to provide feedback for team members. Identifying additional training or parts of engagements that are beneficial for team members education.Reaching out to Human Resources when potential issues arise.
  • Continue coaching the team to share knowledge and develop them for the next level.
  • Develop training presentations on a topic in connection with the CPE committee and present to the team in a lunch and learn format for CPE training credits.
  • Accurately schedule the team to align with project plan. Weekly review of all time on assigned engagements. Timely update of team schedules that align with shifts in project timeline. Ensuring that each component of the project has the appropriate leverage. Regular review of engagement health.
  • Review utilization for yourself and all direct reports align with expectations.
  • Oversee a managed book of $1,200,000 in revenue.
  • Work to build relationships and promote collaboration in a hybrid environment.
  • Support Firm initiatives and development opportunities.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Being a strong champion for and thrives in an environment of changing priorities.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact in a team environment and foster client relationships.
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understand the services offered by the Firm, look for opportunities to represent the Firm, grow the client base, and increase brand recognition.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
  • Close to obtaining the CPA certifications.
  • 6+ years of relative accounting experience; at least 1 in public accounting or professional services highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift items up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Close to obtaining CPA certification
  • 6+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • At least 1 year in public accounting or professional services
  • Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel
  • Experience onboarding and managing PBC platforms and audit workbook processes
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and ensuring numbers tie to QB
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
