This position requires recent, hands-on Florida civil litigation experience and the ability to manage routine assignments with minimal instruction, subject to attorney supervision and review.

How Will You Make a Difference?

  • Review court orders, pleadings, discovery, and applicable procedural requirements to identify, calculate, calendar, and monitor litigation deadlines; maintain advance reminders; and promptly flag approaching deadlines, scheduling conflicts, and outstanding tasks.
  • Prepare documents and exhibits for filing; electronically file and serve attorney-approved documents through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal and federal CM/ECF system; comply with court-specific filing requirements; and verify acceptance, service, and docket entries.
  • Prepare initial drafts of interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, and responses to written discovery for attorney review; coordinate with clients to obtain information, documents, and required verifications; and track outstanding discovery and response deadlines.
  • Prepare initial disclosures and supplemental disclosures and discovery responses for attorney review; identify missing information and follow up with clients and other sources to complete responses.
  • Review, organize, and summarize medical records, claims files, and other case-related documentation.
  • Prepare case analyses, chronologies, and litigation summaries for attorney review.
  • Review and summarize court filings, discovery responses, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct background research on individuals, companies, and case-related matters.
  • Assist attorneys with deposition preparation, witness files, exhibit preparation, and trial support.
  • Draft subpoenas, authorizations, and other litigation-related documents in accordance with state and federal rules.
  • Coordinate with records custodians, vendors, experts, and medical providers to obtain case materials.
  • Prepare and maintain Excel spreadsheets, litigation trackers, and case management reports.
  • Accurately record and maintain billable time entries.
  • Utilize document management systems to organize and retrieve case information.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to ensure efficient case progression from inception through resolution.
  • Collect, organize, review, Bates-label, and prepare documents for production; identify potentially privileged or confidential materials for attorney review; prepare draft privilege logs and necessary redactions; and maintain records of documents produced and received.
  • Prepare routine notices, correspondence, proposed orders, and other litigation documents for attorney review; coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations, examinations, and expert inspections; and arrange court reporters, interpreters, and other necessary services.
  • Assist with hearing and trial preparation, including exhibit and witness lists, deposition designations, subpoenas, exhibit binders, and compliance with pretrial orders.
