Legal Specialist I
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing support to the Legal Response Operations Center (LEROC). This role will receive, analyze and route information from many sources to facilitate accurate and timely compliance with subpoenas, search warrants, and court orders received by Charter. Duties include daily contact with internal clients, law enforcement, local, state and federal agencies and other issuing parties. This position requires use of online automated tools, database tracking, and responding to requests for information. The position interacts with fulfilment teams and law enforcement agencies on a regular basis.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
- Analyze and process incoming subpoenas, search warrants, court orders and other compulsory legal process to validate that proper and compliant service has been received and that the request is clear and reasonably capable of fulfillment
- Input information and data utilizing various databases and subpoena tracking systems as necessary
- Serve as liaison for internal clients, law enforcement, and local, state and federal agencies
- Perform administrative duties and resolve routine legal issues as directed and under the supervision of manager and managing attorney
- Perform other duties as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and law enforcement agency personnel
- Demonstrated Microsoft Office skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proven organizational, interpersonal, writing, and proofreading skills
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work independently as well as in a team environment
- Knowledge of cable and telecommunications products and services
Education
Associate's degree or equivalent experience
Related Work Experience
1+ years working in law enforcement, law firm or corporate law department or equivalent other
prior experience analyzing information for investigative purposes
