ELS is hiring for the position of Legal Administrative Assistant in Tampa, Florida.

What you’ll do: 

The Legal Administrative Assistant supports the legal team with respect to the day-to-day clerical, administrative and operational functions of the office. 

 

Your job will include: 

  • Perform standard administrative duties in support of team members (e.g., answering phones, scheduling meetings, etc.) 

  • Assist with the preparation of legal documents, including subpoenas, complaints and appeals. 

  • Organize case files and complete legal forms. 

  • Generate and organize reference tools for use by team members. 

  • Maintain and update databases and tracking systems. 

  • Prepare and format necessary reports and presentations. 

  • Maintain accurate and current hard copy and electronic files. 

  • Perform legal research and analysis as required. 

 

Experience & skills you’ll need: 

  • Associates degree, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Paralegal certification or related coursework preferred. 

  • 1+ year of experience in a legal environment. 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Lexis-Nexis and other relevant legal and research software programs.  

  • Familiarity with key legal principles and terminology. 

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. 

  • Strong research and administrative skills and meticulous attention to detail. 

  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to prioritize appropriately. 

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
