Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Spearhead the design and development of real-time, mission-critical trading platform using KDB+/q
- Tackle large-scale engineering challenges with technologies like Kafka and AMPS
- Team player to innovate, troubleshoot, and optimize for performance and stability
- Foster a culture of creativity, inclusion, and technical excellence
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver solutions that drive business success
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 5+ years of experience in developing KDB+/q application in financial services preferably in the Equities domain, including experience in building tickerplant, real time subscriber and historical database
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience
- Proficiency in data structures and performance tuning
- Proficiency in testing and debugging low latency applications
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
- Open-minded and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc.)
