The Junior SW Quality Assurance Engineer is a member of a cross-functional Scrum team, contributing to the quality of Nokia’s optical networking solutions. In this role, you will support testing activities, follow established quality practices, and help ensure that quality is maintained throughout the R&D lifecycle.
You will work closely with more experienced team members, learning best practices in software testing and quality assurance while gradually building your technical skills. You will participate in team activities, contribute to continuous improvement, and collaborate in a multicultural Agile environment.
Responsibilities- Contribute to the Product R&D lifecycle with guidance from more experienced team members
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily scrums, reviews, retrospectives), supporting requirement analysis and test case discussions
- Design, develop, and execute automated tests using Python and pytest, aligned with the team’s Definition of Done
- Support the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks and test suites
- Assist in identifying defects, analyzing test results, and reporting issues clearly
- Learn and apply AI-assisted testing techniques, such as LLM-supported test design, automated test generation, and test data creation
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices and test processes
You have
- Understanding of optical transmission fundamentals
- Experience with Python and exposure to pytest or other test automation frameworks
- Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with software testing concepts and test automation fundamentals
It would be also nice if you had
- Interest or initial experience with AI/ML applications in software testing
- ISTQB certification (or willingness to obtain it)
- Personal or academic projects related to testing or automation

Skills Required
- 1-2 years of directly related experience
- Graduate-equivalent degree
- Specialized or broad knowledge of theory and principles within a professional discipline
- Experience analyzing, designing, developing, and testing integrated hardware and software systems
- Knowledge of software and hardware release control, documentation, and change management
- Ability to diagnose hardware and software problems and resolve customer trouble tickets
