The Role
Validate and debug vehicle IoT hardware, including board bring-up, power rails, peripherals, connectivity, CAN communication, and integration with BMS and charging systems. The role involves designing DVP/DVT plans, conducting lab testing, performing root-cause analysis, supporting schematic and component reviews, validating antenna and server connectivity, documenting results, and assisting with EMI/EMC pre-compliance and field integration.

Hardware Design Engineer – VIM (IoT)
Vecmocon Technologies Pvt. Ltd. • Noida, India • Experience: 2 years • Full-time
About the Role
You will own hardware quality for Vecmocon’s VIM (IoT) modules — the connected “brain” of the vehicle. Beyond running tests and circuit simulation you will bring up, validate, and debug VIM hardware and integrate it with our BMS and charging systems. This is a hands-on validation and design-support role.
Key Responsibilities
- VIM Validation: Design and execute DVP / DVT for Vehicle Interface Modules (IoT) in EV applications — power rails, peripherals, connectivity (cellular / GNSS / BLE) and CAN.
- Board Bring-up & Testing: Bring up new boards and ensure full validation coverage before handover, using oscilloscope / DSO, multimeter, logic analyser and electronic load.
- System Integration: Ensure the VIM communicates reliably with the BMS and Charger across the EV ecosystem.
- Debugging & RCA: Diagnose hardware failures and produce formal RCA in the Vecmocon standard format ; maintain a hardware bug log.
- Connectivity & Compliance: Validate antenna and server-connectivity performance and get understanding to run EMI / EMC pre-compliance checks.
- Design Support: Contribute to component selection and schematic review.
- Documentation & Field Support: Maintain DVP reports, test plans and change-logs; willing to travel for on-site testing and integration.
Who You Are (Required Skills)
- Experience: 1–2 years in electronics hardware testing / validation (BMS,VIM or general electronics backgrounds are encouraged).
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, or a related field.
- Core Electronics: Strong fundamentals — power supplies, MCU peripherals, reading schematics / datasheets — plus PCB-level testing and troubleshooting.
- Tools: Confident with lab equipment (DSO, multimeter, logic analyser) and soldering of SMD and through-hole components.
- Software: MS-Excel for data interpretation; Python for test automation is a plus.
- Mindset: Strong problem-solving, structured root-cause analysis, ownership and clear communication.
We’ll Train You On These
- IoT protocols / telematics and server connectivity.
- VIM / IoT assembly and the Vecmocon standard DVP and RCA processes.
- EMI / EMC pre-compliance and thermal / environmental validation.
