Role Overview

The Junior Electrical Engineer supports the installation, servicing and maintenance of industrial electrical systems, control panels and automation solutions for bottling and manufacturing plants. Working under the guidance of the Field Service Engineer – Electrical and the Project Manager, the role assists with plant audits, electrical fault diagnosis, system upgrades and compliance checks, while progressively building the hands-on technical skill required to take on greater site and project responsibility.

This is a developmental engineering role. The Job Holder is expected to build practical competence in electrical installation, troubleshooting, project support and technical documentation, supporting senior engineers on active sites and gradually taking on more independent tasks as capability grows. The role also supports project scoping, technical documentation and internal engineering assignments that strengthen Synkron's service offering.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical System Installation, Maintenance & Troubleshooting Support: Assist with the installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of industrial electrical systems, control panels, motors and automation equipment, and support the diagnosis and resolution of electrical faults, power fluctuations and machine control failures under supervision.

2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Support scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical components in bottling and manufacturing plants, and assist with electrical upgrades, energy efficiency improvements and system enhancements.

3. Site & Project Support: Work alongside the Field Service Engineer – Electrical and Project Manager on active sites, supporting site activities, timelines and technical specifications, and helping maintain accurate project records, service logs and technical documentation.

4. Compliance & Safety Support: Support electrical installations and maintenance activities in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., IEEE, IEC, OSHA), and assist in maintaining service reports, maintenance logs and quality assurance documentation.

5. Plant & Machine Electrical Audit Support: Support in-depth electrical system audits to evaluate plant performance and reliability, help identify risks, inefficiencies and improvement areas in power distribution, automation and controls, and assist in preparing audit reports and recommendations.

6. Project Scoping & Technical Support Assistance: Support senior engineers and the Business Development team by helping prepare technical specifications, cost estimations and documentation for client proposals, pitches and feasibility studies.

7. Learning & Professional Development: Participate in technical training, mentorship and knowledge-transfer sessions led by senior engineers, and progressively develop hands-on expertise in electrical systems, automation and project support.

8. Reporting & Documentation: Assist in preparing weekly and monthly progress reports, maintenance logs and technical documentation, and support the accurate recording of project activities, site challenges and technical findings.



Requirements

Education Requirements

        Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

        Professional certifications in automation or industrial electrical systems are an added advantage.

Experience

        0–2 years of experience in electrical maintenance, field service, or industrial plant operations; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

        Internship, attachment or hands-on academic project experience in electrical or industrial systems is an added advantage.

        Exposure to bottling, food & beverage, or manufacturing industries is preferred but not required.

        Exposure to PLC programming, automation systems or industrial controls is an added advantage.

Technical Requirements

        Basic understanding of PLC programming, motor control, and industrial automation principles.

        Basic knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFDs), transformers, and switchgear systems.

        Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and wiring layouts.

        Exposure to SCADA systems, electrical testing tools, and troubleshooting equipment is an advantage.

        Foundational skills in circuit analysis, fault diagnosis, and power distribution.

        Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.

        Willingness to work on active industrial sites under supervision, with a strong focus on safety compliance.

        Strong attention to detail in maintaining service logs, audit notes and technical documentation.

        Good communication skills to support coordination with senior engineers, clients and project stakeholders.
