Job Description

Top Three Skills:

1. Java/J2EE - must be sr. level with core java and java EE

2. Spring/Hibernate/Struts - must have experience working with all three frameworks

3. WebService - experience creating and consuming

4. End to End development is preferred dispite much of the focus for this position being middle and backend.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will join a team responsible for developing the next generation LookAhead product suite and maintaining the existing suite of LookAhead applications. The LookAhead product suite is used by American Airline’s Airport Operations staff and System Integrated Operations Control departments to manage flight operations through the use of sophisticated optimization algorithms and modeling techniques.

Candidate will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle using best practices in object-oriented techniques and Agile. Evaluates requirements and enhancement requests and proposes solutions to LookAhead product suite with careful consideration to cost, impact, and compatibility with other systems. Formulates and executes implementation plan for delivery of requested functionality. Analyzes, reviews, creates, and alters existing software and software artifacts to implement new requirements. Actively participates in software design and peer code reviews. Monitors performance and provides support of application after implementation. May provide training on how to use new or enhanced application. Provides technical assistance and partners with end users to solve operating problems. Investigates and resolves problems with software products and systems. Oversee installation of hardware and software.

Additional Information:

• Must be able to work well within a team environment as well as independently

• Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills

• Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language

• Applicants must have a degree in Engineering or Computer Science; MS in Computer Science is preferred

• Airline industry experience is a plus.

Work Environment:

Agile/Scrum - Team Oriented, must be able to work with multiple business units.

Qualifications

 Interview – must be able to interview onsite.

Interview Information:

1. 30 Minute technical assesment with TAC Team

2. 15 minute phone screen with Technical Leads - Darin and Jason Brown

3. 2 Hour on-site interview with Technical Leads, Manager, and Sr. Manager
