The Team
The Investment Solutions and Governance team at Netwealth is responsible for overseeing the research and governance of investment options available on the Netwealth investment menu.
Netwealth’s product suite includes Superannuation and IDPS platforms, Managed Accounts, and Global Specialist Series funds. Members of the Investment Management & Research (IMR) team work closely with the broader Product Department to manage the investments offered to clients on the Superannuation and IDPS investment menus and products issued by Netwealth as responsible entity.
The Opportunity
As an Investment Analyst within the IMR team, you will report to the Head of Investment Research and Governance and support the implementation of Netwealth’s investment governance framework across its financial product suites and superannuation services.
This role has a particular emphasis on fixed income, credit and property strategies, supporting the selection, monitoring and ongoing governance of specialist managers and products in these asset classes.
Key Responsibilities
Support the review, selection and ongoing monitoring of fixed income, credit and property investment strategies across Netwealth's investment menu
Conduct detailed due diligence on external fund managers, including manager meetings, qualitative assessments and portfolio reviews, in accordance with Netwealth's Investment Governance Framework
Analyse fixed income and credit portfolios, assessing performance drivers, risk characteristics, liquidity profiles and portfolio construction outcomes
Prepare high quality research papers, investment recommendations and manager reviews for Investment Committees
Support the ongoing governance of the investment menu, including investment option additions, monitoring, surveillance and removals
Monitor market developments, interest rate environments and emerging trends across fixed income, credit and property markets
Support Investment Committee reporting and contribute to broader IMR work plan initiatives and governance activities
About You
You are an naturally curious investment professional with a genuine interest in fixed income, credit and property investments. You may come from a research team within a research house, investment consulting firm, dealer group, wealth management firm, asset manager or platform environment. You enjoy analysing investment strategies, engaging with fund managers and understanding the key drivers of risk, return and portfolio outcomes.
You enjoy analysing how products are constructed, understanding where risks lie, and assessing performance across different market conditions. You are comfortable engaging with fund managers and forming independent views.
You also bring strong communication skills and can translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
Your Experience
Tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, or a related discipline; CFA or equivalent is highly regarded
Minimum 5 years' experience in investment research, fund research, investment consulting, wealth management, asset management or a related investment role
At least 2 years' experience covering or researching fixed income, credit and/or property investment strategies, including manager structures, risk characteristics and performance drivers
Understanding of a Responsible Entity for a registered Managed Investment Schemes and Super Trustee regulations (SPS530)
Strong understanding of investment structures, liquidity profiles, and risk-return characteristics
Experience conducting fund manager due diligence and preparing investment recommendations
Familiarity with research tools and data platforms (e.g. Morningstar, FactSet)
Understanding of platform products and how advisers and clients use them is beneficial
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
