About Fuse
We are building one of the most potentially consequential companies of the century. Our mission is to accelerate the world's transition to fusion energy while safeguarding humankind. This is not a normal company. This is not a normal job. We are committed for the long term to win.
About the Role
As an Intern at Fuse, you'll be on the front line of building TITAN, our next-generation pulsed-power generator and the most powerful machine of its kind. We're looking for creative, driven, and tenacious students ready to take on the monumental challenge of fusion energy alongside our engineering team.
Core Responsibilities
Support the design, build, and testing of TITAN and related pulsed-power hardware alongside the engineering team.
Contribute hands-on to assembly, troubleshooting, and iteration as machines move from concept to working hardware.
Take ownership of discrete project pieces and see them through to completion.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled as a university student in an engineering program.
Demonstrated experience working on a team and achieving a common goal.
Ability and willingness to work from Fuse's R&D facility in San Leandro, CA.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on project experience.
What We Value
Give a shit. Build things you're proud of.
Take responsibility. If something is broken and you can fix it, fix it. See things through.
Move fast. Make decisions, learn quickly, and keep moving forward.
Think bigger. Simplify relentlessly. Don't default to the safe answer.
Disagree and commit. The best idea wins. Once a decision is made, we move.
Desire to win. This is hard. Expect intensity. We are here to win.
Plan B is to make Plan A work.

What We Do
Fuse is on a mission to accelerate the world's transition to fusion energy while safeguarding humankind. Since 2019, we've built 3 functioning and record-breaking pulsed power fusion machines, with dual applications: commercial power generation (long term), and supporting the US and Allies' national security through radiation effects testing capabilities (immediate term). TITAN, our latest machine, is the world's first high-power (1TW) Impedance Matched Marx Generator, with experimental results peer-reviewed and published in Nature Scientific Reports: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-024-67774-4 TITAN is the building block of our technology roadmap, leading to fusion pilot plant demonstration with APEIRON I.
