How you'll make a difference:

    · Design plumbing, drainage, fire protection, heating, ventilation and cooling (HVAC)systems for commercial and institutional buildings across a variety of project types

    · Lead and coordinate mechanical design from concept phase through construction documents, taking ownership of your discipline on project teams

    · Collaborate with architects, interior designers, structural engineers, and electrical engineers to deliver integrated, sustainable building solutions

    · Develop and maintain high quality Revit models and engineering drawings for HVAC, plumbing and drainage, and fire protection systems

    · Perform load calculations, equipment selections, and system sizing using first principles engineering and industry standard software

    · Integrate energy modelling, value engineering, and lifecycle costing to optimize mechanical system performance and project budgets

    · Manage day to day project activities, including client meetings, presentations, and consultant coordination

    · Support construction administration activities including site reviews, shop drawing review, and responding to RFIs and contractor queries

    · Mentor EITs and junior designers, contributing to team development and a culture of technical excellence

    · Contribute innovative mechanical solutions for green and high-performance building projects

Who you are:

    · Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technology Diploma in a related discipline

    · P.Eng. or P.L.(Eng.) licensure (or eligibility) required

    · 5-10 years of experience designing HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems for commercial and institutional buildings, or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated project experience

    · Proficient with BIM software (Revit preferred) and load calculation tools (Carrier HAP, Trane TRACE, or similar)

    · Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards including ASHRAE 62.1, ASHRAE 90.1, National Building Code of Canada, Ontario Building Code, NFPA 13/14, and CSA B149

    · Experience with schematic design, design development, detailed engineering calculations, equipment selection, and specification writing

    · Familiarity with construction administration processes including site reviews, shop drawing review, and RFI responses

    · Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to clients and project teams

    · Energetic, proactive, and collaborative with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines

    · LEED accreditation is an asset

What We Do

Hello. Glad you stopped by. In fact, we were hoping you’d stop by because we’re unabashedly passionate about design and love to connect with those who feel the same. We’re a team of architects, urban planners, interior designers, structural, mechanical and electrical engineers, and landscape architects who truly believe design can, and should, meaningfully improve the wellbeing of our communities and the environment we all share. And we don’t just say that. We mean it! We’ve come together because we see the important challenges facing communities becoming increasingly complex. We believe the diverse perspectives and expertise of our multidisciplinary team uniquely position us to tackle these challenges in ways our competitors can't. We even have clients who would tell you we’ve made the impossible possible! Our work includes designing for urban vibrancy, health and wellness, transportation, education, arts and culture, residential, retail, and commercial, as well as mixed-use solutions which incorporate an increasing number of these. As a group of creatives, we’re known as people who think outside the box. But the truth is we’re usually pushing, pulling, cutting, carving, sketching and modelling our clients' needs that eventually become places for communities to enjoy. If you’re interested in thinking outside the box with us, we want to hear from you
