Valiant is looking for an InfoSec Analyst to join our team! This is a temporary position. The length of the assignment has not been determined.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the Senior Information Security/Lead. Responsible for providing support to the implementation and oversight of INFOSEC regulations, including those covering Original Classification Authority (OCA), in accordance with Executive Order (E.O.) 13526, “Classified National Security Information, and DoD 5230.30-M, “DoD mandatory Declassification Review Program.”
- Conduct background research and gap analysis on Government best practices involving theprocedures required for the development of operational functions regarding INFOSEC.
- Provide various drafts (emails, memorandums, articles, etc.) of routine revisions of NGB INFOSEC, classification, and declassification procedures for Government review.
- Conduct research on Government best practices involving the procedures required for the development and maintenance of standard text and protocols for Government Security Classification Guides (SCGs).
- Provide verbal and written guidance and referential information related to SCGs for inquires by the NGB or JFHQ-State.
- Contractor shall create draft-training materials and draft training syllabi on the proper exercise of classification and declassification authority policy and guidance. Update hard copy training material and reference packets, quarterly.
- Facilitate INFOSEC training, Staff Assistance Visits and Audits for NGB staff members at TARC, Pentagon and State-JFHQs. Training to State-JFHQs maybe virtually or in-person (on an approved basis).
- Maintain awareness of trained individuals in both NGB and the “54” and report deficiencies bi-annually and prior to compilation of the ISOO report. Coordinate with Security Assistants and maintain awareness of request for training.
- Prepare draft references and other supporting documentation such as DoD regulations, E.O.s, and case studies to support Government decisions in Mandatory Classification Reviews (MDRs).
- Review as required, requests for classification and declassification against E.O.s, DoDMs, and CNGBMs. Analyze the procedures for the exercise of classification and declassification authority and provide draft recommendations on an annual basis unless program needs dictate otherwise.
- Support NGB-PA requests. Perform background research on the applicable policy, procedures, and guidance that affect the request.
- Conduct monthly Automatic Declassification Reviews (ADR) and recommend non-routine questions involving possible exempted material and other Government agency equities. Analyze the ADR and provide recommendation and references for resolution.
- Provide quarterly drafts of mandatory reports of NGB classification and declassification actions.
- Conduct background research and prepare draft recommendations to satisfy requests that come through staff action tool (TMT).
- Maintain a record of and train new OCA appointments and provide annual report. Schedule and in-brief the new OCA on their duties and responsibilities.
- Attend and provide meeting notes for OCA-related working groups, steering committees, and the like.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Active TS, TS/SCI preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Bachelor's Degree
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 12+ years of experience conducting analysis with at least a portion performing relevant duties in the past 2 years.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees.

- Knowledge of INFOSEC regulations and classification/declassification policy (EO 13526, DoD 5230.30-M), MDR and ADR processes, and Security Classification Guides (SCGs).
- Experience developing and delivering INFOSEC training, preparing training syllabi/materials, and conducting Staff Assistance Visits and audits.
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance; TS/SCI preferred
