The Manager of Information Technology leads IT operations for Lucas Oil’s manufacturing environment, with primary focus on production floor uptime, plant systems reliability, IT/OT infrastructure, and team leadership. This role oversees plant IT staff, supports capital projects and system operations, partners with plant leadership on automation initiatives, and reports to the Director of Information Technology.

Purpose/Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead IT operations for a multi-shift manufacturing environment where production floor uptime, reliability, and fast issue resolution are the highest priorities.
  • Oversee plant IT staff, including daily work, performance, development, accountability, and change management.
  • Coordinate and prioritize IT resources to ensure effective support of manufacturing operations and business-critical initiatives. 
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for system availability, service delivery, incident response, and team performance. 
  • Partner with plant leadership, operations, maintenance, engineering, and vendors to support manufacturing technology, automation, and process improvement.
  • Support IT/OT infrastructure planning, implementation, and ongoing support for manufacturing systems, plant floor technology, automation initiatives, and production-critical integrations. Provide enterprise IT support as needed for corporate, remote, plant, and other Lucas Oil locations or assets.
  • Participate in IT budget planning, capital project planning, vendor management, and business case development for IT and manufacturing technology solutions.
  • Manage plant-critical outages, backup, disaster recovery planning, incident response, system performance, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Support and train users on practical technology solutions that work in a rugged plant environment.
  • Maintain documentation for IT governance, support procedures, automation, manufacturing systems, and internal processes.
  • Stay current on technology trends related to manufacturing, automation, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise operations.
  • Other responsibilities may include IT helpdesk functions, server infrastructure support, Active Directory support, and deskside support for local or remote users.
  • Some travel is required.

Requirements

  

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds at times.
  • Frequent walking throughout the manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments. 

Required Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills with production, operations, maintenance, leadership, and    technical teams.
  • Hands-on experience supporting SCADA systems (Rockwell preferred), Operational Technology (OT), IT/OT infrastructure,  manufacturing integrations, and production-critical systems.
  • Experience supporting technology in manufacturing or industrial environments where uptime, reliability, and practical floor support are critical.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to business-critical issues. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop technical teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 
  • Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills. .
  • Experience with remote management tools, Microsoft 365 administration, and capital IT or manufacturing technology projects.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Mobile Device Management solutions for Windows, macOS, and Android systems.
  • Experience administering Nutanix environments.
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA, Fortinet, Rockwell Automation, or ITIL are preferred.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a closely related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive information technology experience.
  • 5+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.

Direct experience supporting manufacturing, industrial automation, SCADA, OT, or production-critical systems.
