Candidate will be responsible for engineering material handling systems. Each system is custom designed per client based on the optimal solution. This requires a team effort of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, controls, software, and project management. The team will develop and implement a design concept that satisfies the customer’s requirements for safety, functionality, reliability, throughput, and expense.
Responsibilities- Participates in Designing/Enhancing conveyor systems as well as various automated and semi-automated material handling systems; may work on phases of a larger project or an entire smaller project
- Assists in the review of product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements and specifications
- Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems
- Creates approval, permit, and installation drawings using AutoCAD
- Obtains material and product quotes from vendors and issues purchase orders
- Monitors the project schedule, engineering time, and material costs
- Works with other disciplines on the project team to make sure the engineered solution and all equipment fit within system confines and constraints
- Travels up to 20% to measure buildings, inventory equipment, commission systems, and interface with customers
- Participates in continuous improvement projects
- Assists in resolving engineering issues by working with customers, vendors, and other team members

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Industrial, or equivalent experience
- Experience, such as an internship, within the material handling industry
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
- AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks proficiency
- Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project.
- Ability to handle intermediate size project assignments with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of the material handling business and ability to assist across teams and divisions
- Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers, vendors, consulting engineers, architects, and installers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Team-oriented and collaborative
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Ability to learn new technology
- Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language
