(IETM) Interactive Electronic Technical Manual Specialist

Decision Technologies seeks a qualified (IETM) Interactive Electronic Technical Manual Specialist to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA.

Position Description:

In support of the Navy Surveillance Radar In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA), reviews, maintains, and assists in the development of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), including S1000D-compliant IETMs – either conversion from existing published hard copy manuals or for new development systems. Supports Model Based Product Support (MBPS) initiatives and performs technical manual, maintenance and logistics planning. Provides technical manual support to the fleet.

Responsibilities and Duties:

·       Author and develop Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) updates IAW MIL-STD-24784 and S1000D standards for Naval surveillance radar equipment

·       Ensure layout and format of IETM coordinate with Technical Manual Contract Requirement (TMCR)/Technical Manual Seatask Requirement (TMSR), MIL-STD-24784, and S1000D business rules

·       Review, maintain and assist in the development of IETMs, including S1000D IETM development and conversion from legacy formats

·       Research, organize and revise content for development of different classes of IETMs, including S1000D data modules and Model Based Product Support (MBPS) technical data packages

·       Implement, execute and manage IETM processes including S1000D, supporting Navy radar systems; provide TMMA support using Model Based Product Support (MBPS) to request Technical Manual identification Numbers (TMIN)s, update distribution, research and updating applicability

·       Ensure compliance with technical manual specifications, MIL-STD-24784, S1000D standards, and technical manual life cycle management plans, including Model Based Product Support (MBPS) requirements

·       Maintain hard copy technical manuals as required. Participate with technical staff in maintenance and update of existing technical manuals

Required Qualifications and Skills:

·     Experience with Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) for Navy systems, including S1000D-based IETMS and MIL-STD-24784

·     Experience with Model Based Product Support (MBPS) and knowledge of Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS) process

·     Experienced in XML and HTML coding, S1000D standards and schemas, and proficient with Adobe Illustrator and IETM development tools, specifically PTC Arbortext

·     Proficient with Navy technical manual update processes, MIL-STD-24874, and S1000D publication processes

·     Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills, ability to work in a team environment

·     Knowledge of configuration management, manpower/personnel planning, training development, technical data maintenance, supply support principles, and Model Based Product Support (MBPS)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

·        Experience with Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements and products, and Model Based Product Support (MBPS)
