SUMMARY: The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support across all HR functions in a fast-paced CPG manufacturing environment. This role supports recruiting, onboarding, employee records, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and employee engagement. The HR Coordinator partners with plant leadership, employees, and corporate HR to support efficient HR operations and foster positive employee experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Coordinate hourly and salaried recruiting activities
  • Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process
  • Conduct pre-employment activities including background checks, drug screens, and employment verification
  • Prepare and administer offer letters and new hire documentation
  • Coordinate and facilitate new employee orientation and onboarding
  • Maintain onboarding checklists and ensure completion of required documentation

Employee Records & HR Administration

  • Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records
  • Process employee status changes including promotions, transfers, pay changes, and terminations
  • Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of employee information
  • Address employee questions about policies, benefits, and HR procedures
  • Generate HR reports and workforce metrics as requested

 Payroll & Benefits Support

  • Assist with timekeeping audits and payroll data collection
  • Support payroll processing by verifying attendance, PTO, and employee changes
  • Assist and coordinate benefits enrollment, changes, and open enrollment activities
  • Maintain benefit and leave administration records

 Employee Relations

  • Assist with employee engagement and recognition programs
  • Support investigations and documentation of employee relations issues
  • Coordinate employee communications and HR-related events

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
  • Maintain I-9, EEO, FMLA, ADA, and other required employment records
  • Support OSHA reporting and workers' compensation administration
  • Assist with policy administration and employee handbook updates
  • Participate in safety meetings and training initiatives

 Training & Development

  • Assist in maintaining training records and certifications
  • Assist managers with onboarding and development programs
  • Support performance review administration and documentation

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • Minimum 2-4 years of HR, payroll, recruiting, or administrative experience; Manufacturing or CPG industry experience preferred
  • Experience with HRIS systems and payroll processes preferred
  • Knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and HR best practices
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:

  • Office environment usually quiet 
  • Frequently standing, walking, sitting, talking, or hearing, 
  • Continually utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment.
  • Frequent interaction with production employees, supervisors, and management.
  • May require occasional overtime to support recruiting events, onboarding, audits, or payroll processing.
  • Ability to walk production areas and comply with plant safety requirements.

Skills Required
