About Our Family

We are a busy, welcoming household with two working parents, a young child, and two beloved pets. Both parents have demanding careers, and a household that runs best when someone reliable and proactive is keeping things humming behind the scenes. We have a lot going on, and we’re looking for someone who can help bring a little more ease and organization to the everyday details of running our home.

We already have some wonderful support in place, including some great systems put in place by our current house manager, who is relocating out of the area. We’re looking for someone who can continue those systems and take ownership of what happens in between. We've learned that the right support isn't just about getting tasks done — it's about having someone in our corner who genuinely enjoys creating order, anticipates what's needed before being asked, and takes real ownership of the household.

We value people who are dependable, thoughtful, and willing to take initiative. The right person will become a trusted part of our household and someone we can rely on to notice what needs to be done and follow through.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You are the kind of person who walks into a home and immediately starts noticing what needs attention — not because you were told to, but because that's just how you operate. You're “Type-A” — organized, grounded, and professional, with a natural instinct for creating systems and maintaining them. You take satisfaction in managing your responsibilities independently, keeping track of the details, and following through with tasks to completion.

You bring warmth and compassion to your work without blurring the lines between personal and professional — knowing when to be conversational and engaged, and when the situation requires more discretion. You're experienced enough that you don't need hand-holding — you know the questions to ask, you read the household, and you take initiative. You’re comfortable around young children and pets, able to prepare well-balanced meals, capable of coordinating vendors and running errands, and are happy to provide childcare when needed. You fully understand what comes with a household management role and can see what needs attention, take ownership of it, and find your rhythm in our home.

Key Responsibilities

Meal Support

  • Prep weeknight dinners on evenings the family is home (simple, rotating menu of gluten-free, well-balanced recipes; no heavy cream-based dishes)
  • Batch-prep lunches for the week to support work-from-home schedules
  • Prepare snacks for the household's young child
  • Grocery shop every week for the family’s meals or any other requested necessities
  • Restock groceries after family travel

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Maintain existing organizational systems throughout the home
  • Tidy and reset main living spaces and “drop zones”
  • Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas)
  • Prepare home for bi-weekly cleaners
  • Seasonal swap of children’s clothing
  • Replace air filters when required
  • Water indoor plants during family travel
  • Assist with organizing special projects as needed

Laundry & Linens

  • Full household laundry, including wash, fold, and put away
  • Rotate bed linens and towels weekly
  • Coordinate dry cleaning drop-off and pickup as needed
  • Keep laundry area tidy and well-stocked

Inventory & Errands

  • Track and restock pantry staples and household supplies (toilet paper, personal care items, etc.)
  • Manage returns and exchanges as needed
  • Handle mail and package receiving and sorting; break down boxes
  • Gift shopping and preparation for upcoming events (birthday parties, etc.)
  • Facebook Marketplace listings and donation drop-offs

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Oversee cleaners, landscapers, and contractors during visits
  • Coordinate and oversee home maintenance as situations arise

Vehicle Upkeep

  • Schedule and transport the family vehicle for regular maintenance
  • Arrange and transport family vehicle for weekly car washes and interior cleanings

Pet Care

  • Scoop litter box daily
  • Replace and deep clean litter box on a monthly basis
  • Feed cats in the evening on applicable working days

Family Support

  • Pickup young child from school as needed (approximately 5:00-5:45pm)
  • Proactively be aware of family’s calendar — flag upcoming events, gift needs, and household scheduling
  • Light childcare and occasional babysitting a plus, not a requirement
