THE COMPANY
We are NEURAL EARTH. We bring clarity to physical risk, enabling leaders to engage with confidence and enact resilient, business-critical decisions. Today's environmental, economic, and infrastructure challenges are deeply interconnected, yet the data required to understand these relationships is scattered across siloed and aging systems. Neural Earth enables operational execution, delivering a single decision intelligence platform that unifies planetary, governmental, and asset-level data, always on and always learning. This is technical work that requires patience. It requires teams willing to operate at the intersection of AI research, geospatial science, distributed systems, and enterprise deployment. It is also incredibly rewarding. Join us at Neural Earth — the next frontier is here.

THE TEAM

Property Insurance is the first vertical of Neural Earth’s Product team, the team that drives the frontier of physical world risk intelligence with the instantiation and continued innovation that Prometheus, our main product, becomes for P&C carriers. It is deployed by upper mid-market and large property carriers with books ranging from a few hundred million in premium to a few billons in premium. Product diligently assesses what gets built, why, and in what order. Engineering, under our Head of Engineering, owns capacity, staffing and sequencing. The two leaders meet weekly on tradeoffs.

THE ROLE

As the Head of Product, you will be the dedicated owner of the property insurance roadmap, a role that exists because carrier demand for Prometheus now requires one. You will lead Product and build the team around it, defining the roles, skills and partners Product needs as Prometheus scales with carriers, then hiring and developing them. You will decide which underwriting, accumulation and portfolio problems Prometheus solves next, prove each release inside the carrier’s own workflow, and stand as the named owner of model governance for insurance use. You won’t write production code or manage engineers but you will make decisions based on customer insight and quantified metrics that your manager, the CEO, will expect you to own, pioneer, and inform against. You have been in the room as a property insurance product went from a first version carriers tolerated to one they would not renew without, and you can name the evidence behind every decision that made the difference. This is you!

HOW YOU’LL BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Own the property insurance roadmap for Prometheus across underwriting, accumulation and portfolio workflows, and the modules that serve them. Trace every roadmap item to named carrier and market evidence, keep a ranked order the team can defend, and bring carrier request-to-ship time down quarter over quarter.

  • Translate carrier workflows into PRDs, acceptance criteria and technical requirements that Engineering can build without rework. Your specifications are ones an engineer can test and a carrier can sign, and they hold through delivery without scope reversals.

  • Prove every release in the carrier’s own workflow. Partner with Sales on discovery, demos and diligence. Sales owns pipeline, pricing and the close, while you bring technical credibility and own whether the product delivers what was sold. Set pilot acceptance criteria with the carrier before build, measure adoption and decision impact after launch, and carry the result into the next iteration. Drive a rising pilot acceptance rate and modules carriers expand rather than tolerate.

  • Govern model use for insurance. You don’t build the hazard, vulnerability or loss models; you decide whether they are fit for carrier and regulatory use and sign off on that call. You own the model inventory, validation sign-off, documentation packs, change log, the in-platform AI systems use policy for underwriting, and responses to carrier and regulator model inquiries. Keep unvalidated model changes out of production, and have a documentation pack ready before a carrier asks for it.

  • Build a global Product team. Define the roles and partners Product needs as we scale, hire and develop them, and set the standard for how product work is specified, validated and handed to Engineering. Build a team that ships on committed dates and makes sound calls without you in every decision.

WHY WE VALUE YOU

  • You have shipped property insurance products in underwriting, pricing, portfolio management or catastrophe exposure that carriers or MGAs run in production, and you know the workflow from submission through bind and renewal.

  • You know property risk and catastrophe modeling, including hazard and vulnerability, AAL and PML, accumulation and treaty limits, and how carriers connect third-party data to policy administration and rating systems such as Guidewire and Duck Creek.

  • You have worked inside model governance: documentation, independent validation, change control, and the expectations regulators now place on insurers’ use of models, data and AI.

  • You understand how geospatial and AI products are engineered: parcel and geocoding accuracy, raster and vector data, spatial indexing such as H3, imagery-derived attributes, model training and validation, and API delivery. You can question a validation set or a data source and estimate what a feature costs to build.

  • You have been on the core team of a product through several iterations, from first release to scaled adoption, and you can show how each version changed based on customer and market evidence and why results improved release over release.

  • You have built and led product teams. You’ve hired product managers and specialists from global talent pools, grown them into leaders, and know which roles a product team needs at each stage of scale.

  • You start from signal, not opinion. You speak with underwriters, actuaries and catastrophe managers every week, and you can separate what a carrier asks for from what it will pay for and use.

  • You write with precision. Your PRDs carry acceptance criteria an engineer can test and a carrier can sign.

  • You say no with reasons. You protect the shared platform, turn one-off carrier requests into product only when the market needs them, and decline the rest in writing.

  • You decide with incomplete information. You state the assumption and the date you will check it, and change course when the evidence says so without defending the earlier call.

  • You own outcomes. You raise bad news early with an owner and a date, and you will delay a release before you put an unvalidated model in front of a carrier.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years in product management, including at least 4 owned products used by insurance underwriting, actuarial, risk management, or claims teams

  • Experience shipping geospatial, machine learning or data API products

  • Property insurance product experience at a carrier, MGA, reinsurer, with products in production

  • Core-team role on at least one property insurance product through multiple release cycles, with evidence that adoption or commercial results improved across iterations

  • Ability to accommodate occasional travel as needed (~20%)
