The Head of Procurement is responsible for leading and developing the company's wholesale telecommunications business while managing strategic procurement activities. The role focuses on maximizing profitability through wholesale messaging and related telecom services, establishing strong carrier relationships, negotiating commercial agreements, optimizing routing and procurement costs, and driving sustainable revenue growth. 

The position also supports the growth of the Company's Enterprise Business by maintaining strong vendor relationships, securing competitive commercial agreements, and ensuring a healthy and scalable supply chain capable of supporting current and future business requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the wholesale growth strategy
  • Establish and maintain relationships with international telecom carriers, operators, aggregators, and strategic partners
  • Identify and secure new wholesale business opportunities
  • Negotiate interconnection, SMS, data, and other wholesale telecom agreements
  • Manage commercial discussions and contract renewals with existing partners
  • Monitor market trends, pricing movements, and competitive activity
  • Lead procurement negotiations with telecom suppliers and vendors
  • Optimize supplier selection and procurement processes
  • Ensure cost-efficient purchasing of telecom services and infrastructure
  • Continuously improve gross margins through strategic sourcing and vendor management
  • Develop long-term supplier partnerships to improve commercial terms
  • Own the P&L performance of the wholesale department
  • Monitor margin performance and implement corrective actions when required
  • Drive continuous improvement in profitability and operational efficiency
  • Ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual profit targets
  • Provide regular performance reports to executive management
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies
  • Monitor commercial risks associated with suppliers and customers
  • Support fraud prevention and credit risk management initiatives

Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in telecom wholesale, carrier relations, procurement, or a related field
  • Proven track record of delivering profitable wholesale telecom business growth
  • Strong network of telecom industry contacts
  • Experience negotiating international telecom agreements
  • Strong commercial, analytical, and financial management skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Fluent English (additional languages considered an advantage)
  • Ability to work independently and deliver measurable business results

Skills Required
