Founding Deployment Strategist

Sapien is rethinking how finance teams operate in the age of AI. We’re building toward an autonomous CFO -- systems that run company financials end-to-end. Our platform analyzes complex financial data in real time to increase decision cadence, prevent costly mistakes, and surface value. We partner with traditional businesses—manufacturing, healthcare, restaurants, and large enterprises to deeply understand and automate their financial workflows. Every wave of enterprise software created a new kind of operator. On-prem had implementation managers. SaaS had solutions engineers. Agentic AI demands something different: people who don't install software, they deploy intelligence. They rewire how finance teams think, work, and decide.

That's this role. You'll be the bridge between Sapien and the finance orgs we serve, dropping into customer environments, learning their workflows cold, and redesigning them around our agents. But deployment is only half of it. You'll sit at the center of the company: feeding what you learn in the field back to sales, shaping the product roadmap with engineering, and giving the founders ground truth on where the market is going. Part strategist, part operator, part finance translator. The connective tissue between customers, sales, product, and leadership.

Customer Deployments

• Own customer implementations end-to-end: scoping, workflow mapping, deployment, training, and optimization. You are the reason a customer succeeds.

• Embed with finance teams (CFOs, FP&A, analysts) to learn how they actually operate, then transform those workflows onto Sapien.

• Build the deployment playbook from zero: repeatable frameworks for onboarding, integrating, and scaling Sapien across organizations.

Cross-Functional Impact & Strategy

• Arm the sales team with what you learn in the field, including real customer pain points, objections, success stories, and the language CFOs actually use, so every deal benefits from every deployment.

• Work directly with engineering to set the product roadmap: translate real finance workflows into product requirements, stress-test new features, and push for what customers actually need.

• Spot patterns across deployments that shape where the product and GTM motion go next.

• Partner with the founders on customer materials, internal strategy, and high-priority initiatives.

• Finance and operating background. 2–6 years in banking, PE, consulting, or a similarly analytical role. You know your way around financial statements, operating metrics, and corporate finance.

• Strong in front of customers. You can hold a room with a CFO. You listen more than you talk, build trust quickly, and turn vague concerns into concrete next steps.

• You build systems, not just deliverables. When you solve a problem, you make sure it stays solved. You leave behind processes, not just outputs.

• AI-native. You use AI tools every day. You pick up new tech faster than anyone around you and you can't help but show others how to use it too.

• High agency. You don't wait for a brief. You figure out what needs to happen and you go do it, with attention to detail that holds up under scrutiny.

• AI-native. You’re energized by applying AI to transform how businesses run.

• Ambiguity-shaping. You turn nebulous problems into a first pass and drive to resolution.

• Extreme ownership. You identify what’s next—and do it. If you say it, it gets done.
