About WebRTC.ventures

WebRTC.ventures is one of the few software development agencies in the world dedicated exclusively to real-time applications. Originally founded as AgilityFeat in 2010, we began specializing in WebRTC in 2015. We are headquartered in Charlottesville, VA, with a remote QA/testing team in Panama City, Panama, and a remote office in Bogotá, Colombia, and serve clients around the globe.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced mid-to-senior Functional QA Tester to help ensure our applications meet business requirements, deliver a reliable user experience, and maintain high quality standards. This role focuses on manual and exploratory testing, test planning, API testing, and collaboration with developers and project stakeholders. You should be comfortable taking ownership of QA activities, making informed testing decisions, and managing your work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.

Test automation experience is an advantage, but it is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to identify gaps, clarify expected behavior, and define test coverage.
  • Create and maintain test plans, test cases, checklists, and test data.
  • Execute functional, exploratory, smoke, regression, integration, and API testing.
  • Validate user workflows, edge cases, error handling, and compatibility across browsers and devices.
  • Document defects with reproduction steps, expected and actual results, and supporting evidence.
  • Investigate issues using available tools, logs, and network information to help developers identify their causes.
  • Collaborate with developers, project leads, and stakeholders to clarify issues, verify fixes, and assess release readiness.
  • Prioritize testing based on business impact, product risk, and delivery timelines.
  • Communicate testing progress, blockers, coverage gaps, and unresolved risks clearly and promptly.
  • Manage QA responsibilities across multiple projects while maintaining quality and meeting agreed deadlines.
  • Recommend practical improvements to testing processes, documentation, and product usability.

Required Qualifications

  • At least three years of professional QA experience, with a strong focus on manual and functional testing.
  • Advanced or fluent English (C1 or higher), with the ability to participate confidently in meetings and communicate clearly with international clients and teammates.
  • Must be based in Panama and eligible for full-time employment in Panama.
  • Demonstrated experience testing web applications, including complex workflows and business rules. Mobile or desktop testing experience is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience testing REST APIs using Postman or similar tools, including validating responses, status codes, authentication, and error handling.
  • Ability to use browser developer tools to inspect network requests, console errors, and application behavior.
  • Experience using issue-tracking and test-management tools such as Jira, Linear, TestRail, TestLink, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating throughout the development process.
  • A track record of independently managing testing activities and following issues through to resolution.
  • Experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing tools such as BrowserStack.
  • Basic programming or scripting knowledge.

Professional and Collaboration Skills

  • Organize and complete work with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Raise questions, blockers, and quality risks early, with clear context and practical recommendations.
  • Identify subtle issues while keeping business priorities and the overall user experience in view.
  • Balance competing priorities, provide realistic estimates, and communicate changes that may affect delivery.
  • Maintain reliable communication, follow through on commitments, and keep progress visible to the team.
