Position: Sr. Project Manager

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Duration:18 Months+

Rate: $70/hr C2C 

Description:            

Therole of the Project Manager is to ensure the project delivers the defined scopeof deliverables and change initiatives within the constraints of budget,schedule and quality.   

This is achieved through effective:

•         Organization and leadership

•         Planning and control

•         Budget management

•         Resource management

•         Risk management and issue resolution

•         Change management

•         Quality management 

PRINCIPALACCOUNTABILITIES:           

 •         Responsibilities:

o         Responsible for all phases of multiple concurrent projects or a singlelarge-scale, complex programo         Build trust and rapport with key stakeholders and facilitate executive (i.e.VP) level steering commit-tees discussionso         Define program and/or project scope and objectives along with applicableproject estimates, de-tailed work plans, schedules, and resource planso         Provide leadership to multiple project managers to achieve program objectiveswith high-quality work products that are delivered on time and on budgeto         Ensure end results meet business and stakeholder benefit expectationso         Follow Medtronic’s quality system procedures to insure compliance with systemvalidation require-ments.o         Foster strong working relationships between project team memberso         Monitor and control project financial metrics and make adjustments wherenecessary to meet scope, schedule and budget expectationso         Follow the IT engagement management model as well as ensure it is aligned withcorporate en-gagement modelso         Ensure that Medtronic’s systems and the information on them are protected inaccordance with Medtronic’s Information Protection Policies and Standards, aswell as best information Protection practices.o         Follow Medtronic’s project management methodology and standard operatingprocedureso         Provide analytical guidance to project team in support of issue and riskresolutionso         Required to spend extended periods of time on computer-based work.o         Escalate project issues as appropriateo         Performs other duties as assigned.o         Adheres to the Medtronic Traits of Mission Values, Compliance & Integrity,External Focus, Clear Thinking, Driven to Win, Inspires Others, Executes,Boundary less and Global. 

EXPERIENCE:   

•         More than 7 years’ experience in Project Management

o         Complex projects of more than $1M budget

o         Full project lifecycle and a minimum of 2 complex projects of more than 2 yearduration

•         Ability to create detailed project plans in Microsoft Project

•         Resource, cost, and budget planning/estimation experience

•         Financial management, budget tracking, and reporting experience

•         Experience facilitating working sessions and steering committee meetings

•         Experience creating risk mitigation strategies
