The ePlane Company is at the forefront of India's urban air mobility revolution. Incubated at IIT Madras, we are a deep-tech startup dedicated to designing and building the world's most compact electric flying taxi. Our mission is to make door-to-door flying a reality, drastically reducing commute times and decongesting our cities for a cleaner, greener future. We're a passionate team of engineers, designers, and visionaries working on cutting-edge technology, and we're looking for brilliant minds to help us take flight.
We are looking for a Full-Stack Product Engineer to develop and test the user-facing operating system for tools we are building. You will build high-density, performant, and aesthetic web tools that turn complex computational physics, graphs, and dense engineering documents into intuitive, interactive workflows. You will design our UI system from the ground up and maintain the system to ensure a high-performance, real-time application dashboard.
Our platform will handle high-throughput, real-time data flows so you will architect systems that can cleanly ingest processed high-velocity data and handle concurrent systems
Establish the frontend architecture, state management patterns, and reusable component library designed for complex, data-heavy enterprise engineering applications
Build responsive, low-latency interfaces across visualisers, automated document/artifact viewers/rich text editors
Architect and maintain a robust backend API layer capable of multiplexing thousands of concurrent real-time events
Build memory-efficient browser frontend for high-frequency data streams
Establish clean CI/CD pipelines, robust unit/integration testing strategies for asynchronous code, and enforce strict API type schemas
Connect tooling and pipelines between our partner software systems and our internal data systems
Build the backend API layer and WebSocket pipelines that interface with our asynchronous simulation services, managing long-running computational jobs and large result datasets
RequirementsRequired Qualifications
Proven track record of architecting and shipping complex, dense web applications (Visualisation heavy systems across developer tools, spatial/mapping software, financial trading terminals)
Modern Web Stack: Mastery of TypeScript, React, and modern CSS/design system tooling (e.g., Tailwind CSS, Radix UI).
Demonstrated experience with 2D/3D web visualization tools
Ability to build and maintain clean, asynchronous APIs, WebSockets, background workers, and relational database schemas
Experience with programmatic artifact generation
Familiarity with node/graph-based UI frameworks (e.g., React Flow) for displaying complex dependencies and traceability.
Background in engineering, CAD/CAM, simulation, or data-intensive B2B platforms.
Foundational background or interest in low-level programming concepts (C/C++, memory management, or systems engineering).
Experience utilizing HTML5 Canvas, WebGL, or SVG layout engines for rendering high-frequency graphics or spatial dashboards.
Skills Required
- Proven experience architecting and shipping complex, dense web applications, including visualization-heavy systems.
- Mastery of TypeScript, React, and modern CSS or design system tooling such as Tailwind CSS and Radix UI.
- Experience with 2D or 3D web visualization tools.
- Ability to build and maintain asynchronous APIs, WebSockets, background workers, and relational database schemas.
- Experience with programmatic artifact generation.
- Familiarity with node or graph-based UI frameworks such as React Flow.
- Background in engineering, CAD/CAM, simulation, or data-intensive B2B platforms.
- Foundational knowledge of low-level programming concepts, C/C++, memory management, or systems engineering.
- Experience with HTML5 Canvas, WebGL, or SVG layout engines.
What We Do
We're developing India’s 1st flying electric taxi for up to 10x faster intra-city commute and cargo transport. Incubated at IIT Madras, Chennai since 2019, The ePlane Company was founded by Professor Satya Chakravarthy with a vision to make flying ubiquitous. As an Urban Air Mobility (UAM) startup, we aim to alleviate on-road traffic congestion in cities worldwide by offering safe, sustainable and affordable flying experiences through our flagship product, The ePlane e200.
