The role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior texture and lookdev artist to join our team on Freelance basis. As a Senior artist, you will play a crucial role in bringing visual effects to life in film and television projects. Your exceptional skills will contribute to the creation of stunning and realistic 3D assets that enhance the overall visual quality of our productions.

Key skills:

• Expertise in creating high-quality textures and shaders for assets based on concept art, reference images, and photogrammetry scans.
• Ability to develop both procedural and hand-painted textures for various surfaces, ensuring realism and artistic appeal.
• Strong knowledge of Mari, Substance Painter, Photoshop, Houdini, and Maya with Arnold renderer.
• Proficiency in UV layout, procedural texturing, resolution management, and shader creation, ensuring textures are optimized for rendering efficiency.
• Experience in look development, creating shaders that meet production requirements under different lighting conditions.
• Understanding of the ACES color pipeline and its implementation in VFX workflows.
• Strong sense of color, surface detail, material properties, and photorealism.
• Ability to collaborate closely with Modeling, Lighting, and Rendering teams to ensure seamless asset integration.
• Maintain consistency and meet technical specifications within the VFX pipeline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a VFX studio.
• Ability to take direction and work collaboratively within a team.
• A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality texturing and look development work for VFX or animation.
• Commitment to staying updated with the latest texturing and look development techniques, tools, and workflows.
