Role Overview

FP&A spans the full spectrum of the Company’s activities, focusing on financial analysis, planning, analytics and decision support. The FP&A Analyst is a key contributor within the function, supporting the delivery of high-quality management reporting and performance analysis to senior leaders within the organisation.

The role is primarily focused on revenue and cost of sales analysis, supporting understanding of performance drivers, margin development and overall profitability at Group and Vertical level. Reporting to the FP&A Director, with day-to-day work guided by the Senior FP&A Analyst, the FP&A Analyst will also contribute to reporting enhancements, analytical initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the preparation of regular management reporting and performance analysis, with a focus on revenue and cost of sales
  • Prepare and maintain group-level reporting frameworks, metrics and analytical outputs
  • Contribute to the review and improvement of existing reporting, identifying opportunities to enhance insight, efficiency and forward-looking value
  • Contribute to trend analysis and incorporate leading indicators into reporting outputs to support a more forward-looking view of performance
  • Analyse financial performance to identify trends, variances and areas requiring further investigation
  • Provide analytical support to Finance Business Partners through accurate data and timely reporting
  • Maintain financial models to support reporting, scenario analysis and evaluation of revenue and margin initiatives
  • Support FP&A improvement initiatives, including enhancements to reporting processes, templates and systems
  • Ensure financial data and reporting outputs are accurate, consistent and aligned with agreed standards and timelines
  • Proactively identify and escalate data quality issues, working with the Senior FP&A Analyst to drive resolution rather than manual workaround
  • Use AI-enabled tools to support analysis, reporting, and process efficiency while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to data protection and ethical standards

The FP&A Analyst is expected to play an active role in evolving how finance supports the business, including:

  • Taking ownership of assigned revenue and margin reporting, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Actively contributing ideas and suggestions to enhance the quality, insight and forward-looking nature of profitability analysis
  • Building strong collaborative relationships with the Senior FP&A Analyst and wider FP&A team to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Constructively challenging data, assumptions and outputs where issues or inconsistencies are identified
  • Supporting the adoption of new analytical approaches, tools and frameworks introduced by the Senior FP&A Analyst
  • Actively engaging with emerging analytical capabilities and techniques to strengthen personal capability and contribute to team development
  • Demonstrating initiative in identifying where reporting can be enhanced or made more efficient

Key Skills

  • 1–3 years’ experience in an FP&A, management accounting or analytical role
  • Good understanding of financial reporting statements
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to investigate variances and identify trends within financial information
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with Finance colleagues
  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • A willingness to learn and develop within an FP&A environment
  • Awareness of AI-enabled tools and their use in Finance

Desired Skillsets

  • Experience with financial systems, reporting tools or BI reporting platforms (e.g. Power BI)

Reporting & Accuracy

  • Timely delivery of assigned reporting outputs
  • Accuracy and consistency of revenue, cost of sales and profitability analysis

Analytical Contribution

  • Quality of analysis and insight provided, including trend-based and forward-looking elements
  • Ability to identify and clearly explain performance drivers and variances

Change & Improvement

  • Contribution to reporting and FP&A improvement initiatives
  • Evidence of reduced reliance on purely retrospective reporting within assigned areas

Collaboration

  • Effectiveness in supporting the Senior FP&A Analyst and wider finance team

This is a 12 month fixed term contract

Skills Required

  • 1-3 years of experience in FP&A, management accounting, or an analytical role
