Who We Are

We’re on a mission to stop the most dominant cyberattacks on the planet.

Petra stops the #1 cyberattack hitting businesses today. We've hit product-market fit and we're scaling fast, which means the operational foundation we build now will determine how well we scale. This is an early, high-ownership role on a small team where your work will touch nearly every part of the business.

We’ve grown revenue very quickly with a small team, reaching mid-7-figures in ARR in a year. We now protect over 2.5 million users across 10,000+ businesses. We are the premium product in our space and have extremely low customer churn. Our customers consistently tell us that Petra is the best product they've ever used. You can see a demo here.

Our founders are YC W24, ex-Abnormal Security, Palo Alto Networks, and Bridgewater.

This is a rare chance to join early and help scale to $30M+ in revenue in the next 12 months.

The Role

We're looking for a scrappy, quantitative generalist to own the operational backbone of the company and work shoulder to shoulder with our founders. Finance will be the center of gravity, from forecasting and budgeting to KPIs and planning, but you'll flex across legal, compliance, and broader operations as the needs arise. This is a rare seat for someone who wants exposure to how an entire company runs and the ownership to build the systems that let it run well. We need someone rigorous with numbers, comfortable with ambiguity, and excited to build structure where none exists yet.

What You’ll Do
  • Own financial modeling and forecasting: build and maintain the financial model, run scenarios, and track runway and burn so we always have a clear picture and the numbers we need to make decisions

  • Drive KPIs and planning: work with teams to develop the metrics that tell us how the business is doing, run our quarterly planning process, and follow up on goals to keep the company on track

  • Partner with accounting on the monthly close, revenue recognition, and keeping our books clean and audit-ready

  • Run point on legal operations: manage contracts, coordinate with outside counsel, and keep our agreements and entity documentation organized

  • Own compliance workstreams: support SOC 2 and other frameworks, track obligations, and keep us in good standing across jurisdictions

  • Manage IT and security operations: handle device procurement and provisioning, access management, and vendor tooling

  • Build the systems and playbooks that let each of these functions scale, codifying process so nothing depends on tribal knowledge

  • Grow with the company: as Petra scales, you'll help shape which of these areas become dedicated functions and where you want to go deep

What You Bring
  • 2-5 years of experience in a quantitative, analytical role, ideally at a PE firm or investment bank

  • Fluency with financial statements and forecasting: you're comfortable building a model from scratch and defending the assumptions in it

  • Speed with accuracy: you move fast without sacrificing quality, applying judgment about where perfection is worth the time

  • Self-starter with a bias toward action: you're comfortable wearing a lot of hats and building 0-1

  • Comfort with ambiguity: you can pick up an unfamiliar area, get smart on it quickly, and build something workable

  • Good intuition for building process: you know when a playbook is needed and get excited about creating order out of chaos

  • No task too small mentality: you're happy to roll up your sleeves on whatever the business needs

Benefits and Pay:
  • Base salary range: $130K-$180K

  • Equity

  • Healthcare, dental, vision

  • Lunch in the office

  • 401K

  • Commuting stipend

  • Equinox discount
