OneByZero is a Frontier Systems Integrator building agentic AI systems for leading banks, telecommunications companies, insurers, and retailers across Asia Pacific. We work on high-impact problems for institutions operating the financial and digital infrastructure of the region.
What You'll Do & The Impact You'll Have
- Design, build, and operate production-grade services, APIs, and integrations end-to-end.
- Own delivery of well-defined components, from design through testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Build backend systems in Python (FastAPI or similar) and contribute to React-based interfaces and streaming APIs.
- Deploy and manage workloads on AWS services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, and CloudWatch.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure automation, and observability tooling.
- Define and execute testing strategies including unit, integration, and regression testing.
- Contribute to low-level designs, code reviews, and technical documentation.
- Debug and resolve production issues, improving reliability and performance.
- Mentor junior engineers through reviews and pair programming.
- Use AI tools to improve engineering productivity, testing, and documentation.
Requirements
What We Are Looking For
- 3 to 6 years of experience building production-grade software systems.
- Strong engineering capability in at least one modern language (Python strongly preferred).
- Experience designing and operating backend services, APIs, and databases.
- Hands-on experience deploying applications on AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, IAM, CloudWatch).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and DevSecOps practices.
- Familiarity with React, Node.js, or modern web application patterns is an advantage.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and ownership capability.
What Sets You Apart
- You have shipped production systems used in enterprise or high-scale environments.
- Exposure to AI/LLM applications, RAG, or agentic frameworks.
- You actively use AI tools to improve delivery quality.
- You contribute reusable tooling or frameworks adopted by your team.
OBZ clients are based across Southeast Asia, ANZ, and Japan. Travel and onsite engagement requirements may vary depending on project needs. Relocation support may be considered based on business requirements.

Language
Fluency in spoken and written English is required across all markets. Strong communication skills are important for collaboration across engineering teams, delivery teams, and enterprise stakeholders.
Local language proficiency is considered an advantage, particularly in Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines.
Certifications
AWS Certified Developer Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certifications are strongly valued.

Skills Required
- 5+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure Engineering or Cloud Platform Engineering
- Strong expertise in AWS networking including VPCs, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, Security Groups, and IAM
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation
- Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of Linux administration and cloud security best practices
- Experience implementing encryption, governance, and compliance controls in enterprise environments
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and cloud operational excellence principles
- Existing unrestricted work authorization in Singapore (visa sponsorship not available)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline
- Hands-on experience with SHIP-HATS
- Experience with AWS Lake Formation cross-account architecture
- Experience with Transit Gateway and large-scale multi-account AWS environments
- Prior experience supporting Government Agencies, IMDA, or Public Sector cloud programs
