About this Position

The Financial Systems Analyst 2 role will be responsible for administering certain components of Primerica’s core financial reporting systems – Workday, Blackline, and Planful. The analyst ensures that all maintenance and reconciliations will be completed accurately and timely, and all system changes are properly authorized. Analyst will also participate in semi-annual financial system updates, testing, documentation, and training.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Analyst will maintain financial systems to add or change data elements, monitor data loads, and enter matching rules.  Perform assigned testing tasks of all system changes and maintain SOX compliant records of all work.


The role will prepare daily balancing of front-end system loads into general ledger and reporting tools.  Identify and correct errors, notify management of issues, and maintain SOX compliant records.


Analyst will prepare account reconciliations of general ledger accounts in a timely manner.  The analyst will also monitor the completion of processes, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and complete reconciliations.


This position will provide user support to Workday, BlackLine, and Planful, including development and presentation of training materials to end users. The analyst will monitor account reconciliation completion and tasks and follow up with users as needed to ensure deadlines are met.  Notify the Controller of completion status on deadline.


The Financial Analyst will support users with Financial System issues which includes assist with navigation, questions, system issues, and proper user of functionality.  In addition, the Analyst will asses end-user reporting needs and coordinate solutions using the appropriate tool or working with IT.


This position will prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations and serve as back-up for System Control staff.


The Financial Analyst will assist in the development and testing of new Workday functionality and in the bi-annual system updates of Workday as well as any other system upgrades.  The position will also assist in future reporting enhancements using existing tools, or implementation of new tools.


Primary responsibilities:


  • Serve as subject matter expert for users of Workday, Blackline and Planful
  • Administer BlackLine account assignments and tasks and validate data
  • Map matching files and set up/maintain matching rules for BlackLine
  • Import subledger files into Blackline and balance data
  • Assess end-user reporting needs and coordinate resolutions
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Serve as a backup for other department staff
  • Assist with semi-annual Workday updates and any other system upgrades
  • Assist in developing training materials and presenting to end users
  • Assist with ad hoc assignments as requested.
  • Assist department with SOX compliance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience preferred
  • 2-3 years of system administration experience preferred
  • Must be able to work independently and demonstrate excellent time management skills in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
