Full-Time | Federal Program Support
We are seeking a Financial Specialist to provide financial management, accounting, and budget support for a federal program, onsite at a federal government facility. This role requires strong analytical skills, experience with federal financial systems, and the ability to interpret and apply federal financial regulations and policies.Responsibilities
- Support federal financial management activities, including accounting, reconciliation, reporting, and budget execution.
- Analyze complex financial data and prepare accurate, compliant financial reports.
- Use federal agency’s financial systems—including the Federal Financial Management System (FFMS) and FileOnQ/Webview (FileOnQ/Webview)—to process, track, and monitor financial transactions.
- Assist with budget formulation, execution, and monitoring; provide recommendations for resource allocation and financial planning.
- Extract, manipulate, and interpret financial data using Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
- Ensure compliance with federal financial regulations, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars, and DHS‑specific financial policies.
- Present financial information clearly to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Maintain organized financial documentation and support audits, reviews, and data calls.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment with strong attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (advanced degree or professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) preferred).
- At least three (3) years of recent, relevant experience in federal financial management, accounting, or budget analysis (experience within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience using federal financial systems such as the Federal Financial Management System (FFMS) and FileOnQ/Webview (FileOnQ/Webview).
- Strong knowledge of federal financial regulations, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars, and DHS financial policies.
- Ability to analyze financial data, prepare reconciliations, and generate accurate reports.
- Experience with budget formulation, execution, and monitoring.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with finance or statistical analysis software.
- Ability to present and explain investment information and financial plans.
- Knowledge of Investment Management System (INVEST), Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT), and Life‑Cycle Cost Estimates (LCCEs).
