Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to lead our international (EMEA/APAC) finance operations. Reporting directly to the Global Controller, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, compliance, and reporting for our international finance operations, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and local regulations. The role will be based in Belgium.
Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Function Oversight: Take overall responsibility for the accounting function, including leading the monthly close process, consolidations, and ensuring the accuracy of financial information and statements. Drive timely reporting and execution of process improvements tailored to the international operations.
  • Financial Reporting Compliance: Ensure that financial statements are prepared in compliance with respective local accounting standards and US GAAP, including any new software/tech industry-specific accounting guidelines that may apply.
  • Day-to-Day Accounting and Technical Expertise: Direct day-to-day accounting operations, providing technical expertise in areas such as tax and international accounting.
  • Team Development: Develop and nurture talent within the Belgian finance team to support the company's growth objectives. Build out the team as needed to meet evolving business needs.
  • Transformational Projects: Support and lead transformation projects supporting the EMEA/APAC team in Belgium, as well as contribute to company-wide improvement initiatives driven by the global finance team. Integrate international operations from acquisitions into the Apryse ecosystem.
  • Tax Compliance: Oversee tax filings and ensure compliance with corporate and VAT/other tax regulations across international jurisdictions.
  • External Audit Coordination: Coordinate and ensure the timely execution of the annual external audit and statutory audits, working closely with auditors to meet budgetary and reporting requirements, for both statutory purposes and group-level audit
  • Policy Development: In collaboration with the Global Controller, develop and implement accounting policies over financial reporting and accounting specific to the finance EMEA/APAC operations, ensuring alignment with global standards and regulatory requirements and incorporated into standard operating procedures.
  • Process Improvements: Drive continuous process improvements, including system automation initiatives, to enhance scalability and support the growth of the finance team.
  • Other duties: Other duties as assigned by and in support of the Global Controller in support of company objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting/Finance. CA/CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with demonstrated expertise in technical accounting and financial reporting.
  • Experience working for/with US-based companies and US reporting standards.
  • Strong knowledge of both Belgian accounting regulations, IFRS and US GAAP, including software/tech industry-specific accounting guidelines.
  • Proven leadership skills in multinational environments, with a focus on team development and process improvement.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with global teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive change.
  • Proficient in working with ERP (NetSuite preferred) and system improvements and implementations.
  • Demonstrated team development skills including staff recruiting, motivating, skill evaluation and development, and training.
  • Strong analytical thinking well balanced with attention to details, deadlines, and delivery of commitments.
  • The ability to manage multiple high priority tasks in fast paced work environment.
  • Strong sense of accountability for accuracy of work and deadlines.
